Best luau I’ve ever been to! - This was the best luau I’ve ever been to! The food was delicious and the dancing/singing was amazing. It takes place in a gorgeous setting. We chose the Ali’i package and received a beautiful family photo, leis, and a table right up front with an excellent view of the stage. We couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful experience all around. Highly recommend!

Surprisingly Great Luau Experience! - My husband and I are not big fans of luaus in general, but reviews on this were very good and our granddaughters wanted to experience one. Wow! This changed our tune. This luau was so well organized, so well conducted, the performances were fantastic, the involvement of the audience was delightful! Our teen granddaughters enjoyed learning to Hula and tried out some games. Our family had our own table to ourselves and it was spread out so there was plenty of room to move around. I have a lot of food sensitivities and was worried how that would go. EVERY dish was clearly labeled! Gluten-free or contains gluten, dairy free or contains dairy, vegan, etc. In fact most of the food was gluten free and dairy free. What a relief! Also, there was enough food for the attendance, so there were no long lines for obtaining appetizers, main dishes, desserts, etc. Beverages were served directly at tables. Staff were friendly and attentive. The performances were very professional, explained well, was enough to learn about and enjoy, and yet didn't drag on too long. Much appreciated!

Always a great time with Family - We visit every summer and they are on our list since we found them! The Ohana vibe and the fresh food is just the tip of the iceberg. The dancers are phenomenal the host and his wife are incredibly talented... the musicians are wonderful and the entire night is magical. We have visited several times and we always feel like family! The only thing that would be better is if they actually invited us to their family luau! I love this luau so much! We have been to several on every island and this is as close to family as you will get. Mahalo for continuing to embrace us into your Ohana!

The Amazing Hoaloha Luau at the Mauna Lani - I cannot say enough good things about this Luau. It was absolutely amazing and so much more than we expected! The food was delicious and plentiful. The servers were very attentive. The show was amazing and the storyteller brought me to tears. Hula dancing, music, fire dancing, OH MY!!! This luah was a little more expensive, but so worth it. This was the only one I found that actually cooked the pig in the ground and we got to watch as they uncovered it. This luau should be on your bucket list for the Big Island!

Wonderful Luau! - We thoroughly enjoyed our evening with the Mauna Lani luau! The food was delicious, entertainment top notch, and setting very beautiful. We appreciated being presented with complimentary kukui nut leas upon arrival as well. We were very impressed with the great variety of fresh fruits, veggies, and delicious meats and sides and, of course, the uncovering and presentation of the imu at the beginning of the night. The main male singer had one of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard and all the singers and dancers seemed to truly enjoy their jobs and performed from their hearts. The only negative was the difficulty we had in actually finding the venue. There is no signage indicating where to go and the directions on the luau website led us to a small bar that was over a mile away from the correct location. The bar tenders told us that we were the third couple they had encountered with the same wrong directions that night. Please, put up some proper signage to avoid this difficulty for future visitors. We did not know to drive to the hotel at the end of the road and ask for directions from their valet until the bartenders told us what to do.

Luau at Mauna Lani - This was a great luau. You had the opportunity to see the cooked pig get dug from its cooking pit, then gave thanks. The food was amazing and the story of the 5 mountains, along with the Tahitian and Samoan history brought you closer to Ohana. The parking is free and you will receive a lei upon entry to the luau. Be prepared to pay $$$ for an alcoholic drink. There is no “bad” seating, you can here and see everything.

Decent Luau - needs work - Summary: We wish we could rate this better - however there was allot of chaos and the dancing/entertainment/story telling just didn't cut it for us. Very rushed. Positive Valet parking was great! We were staying at one of the Mauni Lani Point Condos so drove over. Check in was good. Seating was nicely arranged so most if not all people had a view of the show. Seating was handled okay but it wasn't clear where / how to order drinks. Once our hostess stopped by, it became evident. Most the food was quite tasty. But since we initially missed the seafood table until after the great mass moved at once to get their meals, we can't comment on those menu items. Our drinks were nicely crafted - and you actually taste the liquor (unlike some other Luaus) Needs work It felt like everything was very rushed with a bit chaotic. When it came time to eat, no one advised guests where tables were and what was on them. We were aware of the menu but had no idea where to find some of the food. Furthermore - it was a free for all - everyone got up to get their dinners at the same time. No staging tables a couple at a time to avoid crowds and people jockeying to get to the food first. It's not fun to deal with rage and people pushing to get to the food - there was plenty of food for all. But chaos caused short tempers for some. The show was not the greatest we've seen - it was okay. Not bad / not good. It was nothing special and not worth the high cost. As we are in Hawaii (Oahu, the Big Island, Maui and or Kauai) at least once a year, and try out different Luau's, we would not go back to this one on the Big Island. We would rate this a B-. With a little better organization, communication and a more authentic dance / entertainment / costumes / story telling - this could be a superb Luau.
