Located between the towns of Pahala and Naalehu in Ka’u, Punaluu Black Sand Beach’s jet black shores are an unforgettable sight. Coconut palms fringe the upper edge of sand and you may also discover large Honu, (Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles), basking on the beach.

Whole island tour with emphasis on the Kilauea volcano - Zane took us on a full tour of the island. Although, primarily focused on the Kilauea volcano, we spent time at a boutique coffee grower's farm and tasting room, the Punalu'u black sand beach, a lava field at the shore and several spots in the town of Hilo. Zane is a very affable fellow and a long-time resident of the Big Island. As a result, he provided plenty of entertaining historical, cultural and historical narrative throughout the tour. Given that his occupation for many years was as a geologist, his knowledge of the volcano and the geologic formation of the island was superb. I highly recommend taking his tour.

All day seeing the Big Island - Wonderful all day tour with Zane our tour guide who took us to multiple locations, including coffee farm, black sand beach, lunch at restaurant overlooking the volcano, lava fields and cave, waterfall and farmers market in Hilo. Zane was very informative about the island and the volcano. The icing on the cake was that we got to see the volcano erupting. So cool!

Hawaii Geo Tour Volcanoes National Park - This is the second time I have done this excursion and both times the tour guide was Eric who is co-owner of the business. He is a “rock” star (pun intended). Extremely knowledgeable about the island geology and well versed on island history! This excursion is well worth the money!!
PS The tour van is a high end vehicle with very comfortable seats!

Great tour of the Big Island of Hawaii - Great tour of the Big Island including the Volcano. Dave was a great tour guide and would recommend him highly. We had a great time with him as he made learning about the different sites fun. Would highly recommend this tour as you get to see the many different temperate zones from the lava fields to the rainforests.

This was an amazing day.... - This was an amazing day. David was so knowledgeable and friendly. He had so many stories and information about the island and everywhere we went. Was a long day but we got to see so much!

Great tour for families! - Highly recommended, the van was clean and spacious. David our guide is knowledgeable in all aspects volcanos, he exudes passion for the islands. It takes the full day, but you really get to see a lot of things in one day. The included lunch was at a restaurant, also very good. We always felt secure and in good company.

Hawaiian volcano tour - This trip is an all day event with much to see. At this time of year(Nov/Dec), warm clothing isn't necessary, but you should expect rain. It's a long drive, you'll be sitting for extended periods. Be prepared for much beauty. Our guide was very knowledgeable, and offered so much information about the island, and the weather changes, and some historic events. David was fabulous as a tour guide.

Very Fun Tour - The tour was awesome! We went around the island and stopped at some cool places. Some of the places we went to were a lava tube, volcano national park, and a black sand beach with a seal and turtles. There was not too much walking and our tour guide David was great. He was very knowledgeable and told us about the place we went to.

Fun on the Island of Hawaii with Hawaii Geo Tours - This was a wonderful experience. Zane was absolutely the best tour guide anyone could have. His knowledge and insights made the trip educational and fun! He took us to places where most tour companies will not go and he was flexible based on the weather. I highly recommend Hawaii Geo Tours and Zane!!!
