From Waimea, travel along the eastern flank of Mauna Kea volcano, commonly known as the famous Hamakua Coast. Stop at Laupahoehoe for a visual example of the Pacific Ocean’s powerful ability to carve rugged pinnacles.
Continue along jungle roads to Akaka Falls. After lunch, head toward Hilo along some of the island’s most scenic backroads wind along through lush jungle gorges and past epic ocean vistas.
Cap your tour with a visit to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, and Kilauea volcano. Gaze into Kilauea’s vast summit caldera. Travel the east rift zone of Kilauea along Chain of Craters road and lava flows old and new. Enjoy plenty of time to look around.

We had a great day with... - We had a great day with Scott! He was very knowledgeable about the different eco climates of Hawaii, the volcanoes, the lava tubes and waterfalls!

Best tour - Highlight of our trip. Scott was amazing. His knowledge of the geography and history of Volcanos was simply amazing. We learned so much and saw waterfalls, walked through volcano tubes and saw the black sand beach amongst other sights. This is a must go to tour. Also it was a private tour only myself and my wife

What a great day with Scott! - We had a private tour with Scott and it was a fun & educational day! He REALLY is an expert on the Big Island and esp. the volcanos on the island. He was very focused on safety, making sure we were always good. We had a lot of laughs and learned a lot too! Book him for a tour - you won't regret it!

Volcano tour - This tour was well worth it. First of all, the tour guide Scott is extremely knowledgeable about volcanoes and all things Big Island. It's our first time in Hawaii and had we tried to do this on our own we would have sold ourselves short. There's no way we would have seen everything that Scott showed us nor known what we were actually looking at. We got lucky going at a slow time of the year, first week of January, and happened to be the only ones on the tour that day so we got our own private tour. We highly recommend Scott and his Volcano tour.

Best day on the Island - We got to see a lot of things we normally wouldn’t see. Our tour guide Scott was very knowledgeable and told us about the different vegetations and history about the Island. He was super fun, friendly and answered any and all questions we had.

Natural beauty - Our tour guide Scott had a good sense of humour and was very knowledgeable, especially about volcanoes. He took us to many beautiful places on the big island. Highlights for us were Kilauea volcano, Punaluu Black Sand Beach and Akaka Falls.

The Volcano Man Makes This Tour!! - Scott was a wonderful host that provided a private tour for us on our vacation. Due to the time crunch, Scott tailored our tour to get us back to the ship on time. He didnt drop us off, he walked along with us to each venue we stopped at and explained what we were looking at, as well as took our pictures. In the end, I believe the only thing we missed was the Portuguese donuts, but he provided delicious wraps for lunch on the go, lol. He made our tour worth every penny, even in a time crunch!! Thank you Scott.

Fun and Fabulous Tour for All Ages!! - This Big Island Big Volcano tour was fabulous. Scott, The Volcan Van (or Man how he should be called.) Picked us up right at our resort. It was just my husband and I) He had asked us for our lunch selection (prior to our tour), had plenty of water and snacks.
Scott was amazingly informative of every landmark we passed. He was energetic, funny and the best compliment I can pay him is that although he has done this
tour for years, he was as excited as us, so he made it "new" for us.
We stopped for very delicious Malasadas (Hawaiian sweet bun) they were great. Scott told us all about the many volcanic eruptions, tsunamis over hundreds and thousands of years. We felt like we were on "moving" seminar as he pointed all the sights. Hard to say which was our favorite: The Akaka Falls was mesmerizing. I felt I was in Jurassic Park and any moment TRex would appear. Walking through The Lava Tube was beautiful and eerie at the same time. When we got to Kiluea Caldera we were speechless. It was so amazing to be that close to this live volcano. No eruption but there were steam vents visible throughout the caldera.
Scott let us take our time at each landmark. We never felt hurried.
When we got to the black sand beach there were 12 Hawaiian Green Turtles just chilling and napping on the sand. This was so sweet to see.
I can go on and on about all the sites we saw during this 8.5 hour private tour. We HIGHLY recommend this tour and HIGHLY recommend that you are lucky and blessed to have this young man share his beautiful Big Island. We hope to come back again and would do this tour again!@

A Fun and Informative Tour for All Ages! - Scott (Volcano Man) picked us up promptly from our resort. It was just my husband and I. He was as excited to share his island as we were excited to learn about it. He explained all the different eruptions that occurred over hundreds if not thousands of years. It's hard to pin point one area over another. We hiked up to see the Akaka Falls, that was a spectacular sight. He took us to a beautiful black sand beach with 12 spectacular Hawaiin Green Turtles just chilling on the sand. He took us through a Volcano Tube that was fascinating and eerie at the same time. We were just delighted to visit The Volcano National Park. When seeing the Kilauea Volcano caldera it was just the most spectacular site for us. Scott gave us time to enjoy each sight. We didn't feel hurried at any time. Taking us to an area where the waves were crashing against lava rocks was breathtaking. I know he has done this tour many times but he made us feel like it was "new" to him and therefore it was absolutely "new" to us too. We really appreciated his sense of humor and sense of delight as he shared all these wonderful sites with us. Thank you Scott for this tour, thank you for the tasty lunch, for making sure we were safe and comfortable.
We heartily recommend this all day tour for anyone who wants a taste of Hawaii, The Big Island!
