Hawai‘i Island boasts its only operational salt farm, showcased on Guy Fieri’s “Guy Hawaiian Style.” This farm is situated on a picturesque 7-acre oceanfront property within the Hawai‘i Ocean Science & Technology Park (HOST Park), a hub for oceanic innovation.

The salt is meticulously hand-harvested by the Chief Salt Maker from deep ocean water sourced 2,200 feet below the surface. During the tour, visitors will discover the cultural importance of Hawaiian salt (paʻakai), the path of the ultra-pure water, and the solar-evaporation process. Guests can indulge in a guided salt tasting, featuring pure, flavored, and smoked varieties.

Optional cold deep ocean water foot soaks are offered. For those with limited time, the retail store is conveniently located just minutes from the airport. Through the Give Back program, 1% of revenue is dedicated to marine debris cleanup and coral restoration. The tour is partially wheelchair accessible—please reach out for more information.
