Beyond Expectations: Night Snorkeling with Manta Rays in Kona - We did the Night Time Manta Ray Snorkel Tour in in January 2025. We have done a lot of regular snorkeling trips before, but this was by far the best. I wasn't super sure what to expect, but this was surreal. We were lucky to experience 4 beautiful giant manta rays, barrel rolling just inches from us. It was a spectacular show to say the least. Highly recommend this trip. Great tour operator. We had to reschedule due to rough surf and they made it super easy. Great guides on the boat, very well organized. Nice boat, snacks and drinks available. We did this tour with 2 adults and our 9 year old. Cannot recommend this enough. The nighttime manta ray snorkel is unique to Kona and it's an incredible experience.

Bring a towel and Hoodie... - Bring a towel and Hoodie for after. We brought our own snorkle and masks but they are provided if you don't have them. Saw lots of manta rays. Crew did a good job.

Snorkeling with manta rays - It was an amazing experience, we saw many manta rays and we had a good service with snacks and drinks. I recommend this experience 100%

Lifetime experience! Crew... - Lifetime experience! Crew was so much fun! Very knowledgeable about all the different animals we saw.

Fun experience - I sounds like it could be a little un-nerving to swim with these giant manta rays inches from your face in the pitch black open ocean… but it is. But once you are in the middle of it you will love the experience. You can get a bit sea sick so be prepared if you are prone to that.

Best experience ever! - What a wonderful experience! Elayo and Kelly with Kona Coast Boat Tours were awesome and easy going but also super safety conscious. The boat ride started with a few safety tips, great music, and a few jokes which made me feel at ease going into the ocean in the dark! But once in that warm water, holding on to the board and immersing my head in the water and seeing these beautiful magical acrobatic creatures flipping upside down and coming so close to touching me, everything around me melted away. It seriously is a magical experience. There were between 5-10 rays swimming about eating their plankton, it was like they were all dancing together at times. Would 100% do this again and with the same company.

Must do while in Kona! - Super cool experience to “hang” out with the manta rays. Our guides were helpful and knowledgeable and we felt safe the entire time. Seeing the rays that close was amazing!

Graet trip - Just a fantatstic time. Crew was great and we always felt safe in the water with the crew constantly asking if anyone needed help. Highly reccomend Hang Loose!

MUST DO if in Kailua-Kona - The manta ray experience with Kona Coast Boat Tours was awesome. The manta rays are beautiful and they come so close to you, you get a great view. The captain and his crew do their best to make you comfortable in the water and attract the rays. We were in the water about 3 mins before the rays headed right for us. The did their diving and eating right in front of us for about 30 minutes. Awesome experience.
