Also feel a 20 plus degree temp drop. - Nahuku - Thurston Lava Tube - See one of the best lava tubes in Hawaii complete with rainforest and jungle. The Park can close the lava tube at any time but has rarely done so.

This tour is private, so it is just you and your ohana together all day. With us, you see more of the National Park than with any other company. Lava has been very intermittent since the end of 2022.

This tour is private, so it is just you and your ohana together all day. With us, you see more of the National Park than with any other company. Lava has been very intermittent since the end of 2022.
HVNP takes approximately 4 hours and includes Halemaumau crater, Nahuku Lava Tube, pit crater, lava tree molds, fissure crack, Pele’s hair, steam vents, pahoehoe, a’a. Meals are usually at the Volcano House because it has the best views of Halemaumau Crater. Several modifications can be made, usually by removing some stops in HVNP.

Kona in one day - Tour guide communicated time of arrival and was punctual.. We had a great tour guide, extremely knowledgeable. Very nice tour, enjoyed it!

Highly Recommend - We had an amazing time touring Volcano National Park with Rob. Splurging on this VIP experience was well worth it for our group of 8. Rob was full of information at every stop. Many times we even noticed visitors (not part of our tour) stopping to listen. Rob was incredibly patient, while making sure we kept a good pace ensuring we got to see as much as time would allow. AMAZING experience - I searched for a while for tours departing from Kona to Volcanoes National Park and kept coming back to Big Island VIP. After emailing with Jodi and having our questions answered, we booked with them. Zero regrets. Rob, our guide was punctual, friendly and totally knowledgeable about all aspects of the island and the volcanoes. He took us to various places in the park as well as places off the beaten track. Myself and my family learned so much from Rob. The van was comfortable and the company provided snacks, water and informational videos for the ride. In addition to the park, Rob recommended a place for lunch and took us to Rainbow falls and the Hilo farmers market. Rob and Jodi also provided us with invaluable tips for the rest of our vacation. This was undoubtedly one of the best tours I have ever been on in any country. I know it may seem pricey, but trust me -- you get what you pay for. 100% worth it.

Amazing day - This day was the highlight of our week in Kona. Our driver/guide, Chris, was excellent with all ages from little kids to grandparents. Modified the trip as needed when we asked and just made it the perfect day for our group.
In addition, Jodi did a wonderful job helping us plan our whole trip, not just the volcano day. Her recommendations for other operators, restaurants, and everything Big Island were amazing.

Awesome Day at Volcano National Park - We booked a private tour with Rob & Jodi and were not disappointed! Jodi picked 4 of us up at our condo in Waikoloa in a clean and comfy air conditioned van. On the day across the island, she shared lots of great information about Hawaii and prepared us for what we would see in the park. Jodi is a certified guide and we can't imagine a better way to navigate and learn about all that the HVNP has to offer. The day of the tour, we saw a live lava flow. It was COOL!! We stopped for lunch at the Volcano Restaurant, which was very enjoyable. We walked through the Thurston lava tube, and on the way passed by giant ferns over 30 feet and hundreds of years old. Jodi knew the park so well, she could ensure we saw the best of the park, but missed the rain storms. We saw much more than can be written in this review. In addition to the park, we went to the black sand beach at Richardson beach, and saw Rainbow Falls. Having a private guide made the experience so much better!! We would HIGHLY RECOMMEND a tour with Big Island VIP! We will use them again.

Hawaii Volcano Tour - Outstanding Tour Gide Rob. Perfect. Extremely knowledgeable and friendly. A real gentleman. AND his tour was professionally done down to the minuets detail. Thoroughly enjoyed and valued this all day trip. Rob took the time to acquaint us with items of intreat that I doubt other guides would have. Definitely worth the money.

Epic Volcanoes National Park Experience w/Family - This was the highlight of our trip to Kona. Rob and his wife Jodi made this an unforgettable experience for me and my husband, brother-in-law, and his family.
We were picked up right on time at 3am (after they recommended changing our pick-up time from 8am to 3am, and THANK GOD we did!) from our hotel and headed to the park. (Note: it was JUST our family in the van, which made it extra special). Walking up to the Kilauea site from the parking lot was amazing - you could see the red glow of the magma reflected in the rising steam.
After viewing the active volcano we had a delicious breakfast at the lodge before riding out into the park to see solidified pahoehoe and aa lava flows and their impact on the surrounding environment. Finally, we walked through the Thurston lava tube, got more coffee for the ride home, and, at Rob's recommendation, we left the park and headed south to see a black sands beach where five sea turtles were relaxing in the sun. We were back at our hotel by around 1:30pm.
We received a link to dozens of photos and videos that documented our day so we can remember all the amazing things we saw.
This was an incredible day and I highly, highly recommend folks take advantage of this opportunity. Thank you, Rob and Jodi!!

Private Tour of the Big Island - Rob was a very knowledgeable guide ! He answered all my questions and I had lots! We were able to experience up close the places that most just see from a distance. He provided videos along the way to help explain the details of what we were about to see.
