Great tour - Sonja was a great guide. Very informative and took her time narrating in both English and Spanish—we never got the feeling she was just hitting the highlights for the few English speakers in the group. Lunch at the old convent was amazing, and we liked touring the salt flats and Vitoria. Highly recommended for an overall Basque experience in a short amount of time.

A great day out! - I had a great time, it's a good opportunity to get out of Bilbao and San Sebastian and see some of the Basque countryside. I went with my wife who was pregnant and the tour was very suitable for her. The lunch was delicious and the salt beds were a great experience.

The Basque roads less traveled. - Traveling with a family from Madrid. Having a tour guide that knew a lot about professional cycling and took the time to point out sites from the recent Tour de France stage. The visit to the salt mines.

A quick view of Viscaya - This was one of four tours that we booked while in Bilbao. We were pleased with the route since it took us from the busy city center of Bilbao to the Vizcaya countryside.

Basque Country excursion - We visited with our kids (17 & 21, so not really kids…) and had a good experience. Most of the tour attendees were Spanish speakers, but Sonja our guide was very good about giving the information in both languages. I never felt we were getting an abridged version. Vitoria was a beautiful stop and the salt flats were fascinating. The last stop in Getxo was fine, nothing particularly great. The lunch in a converted monastery was delicious, and a nice way to break up the day. I would recommend it as a good way to cover a lot of country easily and quickly.

Breathtaking Views!!! - I was looking forward to meeting other traveling couples, but it was just the guide and my husband and I. Viator at no point communicated that to us. They told us that they would pick us up at our hotel, but that never happened. We are seniors and were counting on that service. My husband’s back is not well and he uses a cane to get around. We had to pay from our own pocket and get up extra early to be there at 7:50, since we had to take the bus. Communication with its customers is not good, from this tour company. The only reason why we are giving four stars it’s because of the scenery and the guide who went out of his way to make us feel welcome. The food was terrible and what the restaurant’s menu offers, is not what they actually serve you. Food is extremely greasy and bland. We ordered stuffed beef steak on the skillet and what they served us was a breaded thin fried piece of meat. I requested to switch it for fish, and they served me a very dry fish, dripping oil all over the plate. The place, was rustically beautiful, though. We truly enjoyed the trip, my husband liked the fact that it was only us. I didn’t because I enjoy meeting new people and making conversation with others. I don’t like being in a car all day long with a stranger who is trying to focus on keeping us safe, while he drives. He however, is an excellent driver and we appreciate that one hundred percent. Hence the score!!! 😊🌺

Beautiful experience - The guide is knowledgeable about the sites we visited and speak both Spanish and English. We covered a lot of grounds of the Basque country in one day, with the highlight of capital city of Victoria. Our lunch is delicious! Our guide made it easy for us to order and understand the local food. The trip is a nice experience!

Could have been perfect if only…. - Overall, the sights and itinerary were great. We saw a lot of the beautiful Basque Country. Unfortunately, we were the minority (English speaking) in a mixed language tour group (Spanish and English). The tour guide was very friendly. But he did not translate everything into English (even after I asked him). How did I know? We ended up reading the transcript from Google Translate to find out why the Spanish translation was two times longer than the English commentaries. At the salt fields in Salina de Ananas, the entire tour was in Spanish. We were told that Viator did not book us a bilingual tour guide. We were given a booklet to follow along from station to station. This was unacceptable. Viator let us down this time.
