A very worthwhile day out - It was a pleasure to meet Aman(?). He was a very pleasant young man as well as a fantastic guide on this day. I take my hat off to him moving between speaking Spanish to English back to Spanish, when explaining a range of topics in great detail. I recommend this tour for a very worthwhile day out. San Sebastián is a glorious place to visit.

The hike to San Juan de... - The hike to San Juan de Gaztelugatxe was stupendous. The view was very beautiful. It was rather hot on that day and therefore a bit tiring, but i would still recommend it. If only one could swim after the hike!

Day tour - The tiny island of San Juan is such a drawcard. Aman the guide who travelled with us talked far too much. I had a headache by the time we arrived in San Sebastian. The walking tour of San Sebastian with Jose was very informative and I would have liked to hear more of its history. Free time was rather long.

Seeing The Basque Country - Interesting experience and wonderful scenery. We enjoyed the sites and food. People with mobility issues will have a difficult time keeping up.

Holiday disappointment. - The photo shows the closest we got to Gaztelugatxe, and we did this under our own steam because despite being 20 minutes early at the agreed meeting place for an 8.30am pickup, along with two Argentinian ladies who were signed up for the same tour, nobody came. After waiting around for best part of an hour, the young lady in the coffee shop opposite managed to get through on the phone number on my paperwork. A rapid exchange of Spanish, (the gentleman didn’t ask to speak to me) and she was told untruthfully that the guide had waited till 8.40am and then left. Strangely, the booking I’d made about five months previously had asked for a contact number, but nobody had tried to ring us either.

My holiday lowlight. - We arrived at the advertised meet up point twenty minutes early for an 8.30am pick up. As did two Argentinian ladies who were on the same tour. Nobody turned up to collect us although we hung about for best part of an hour. Eventually a very kind and helpful young woman in the coffee shop opposite managed to get through to the number on my paperwork, and she was informed that the guide had waited till 8.40am and then left because we weren’t there. A blatant lie, especially since they had asked for and been given, my friend’s mobile number when the booking had been made about six months earlier. We had booked through Viator, and so we got refunded. But there was no availability to go on an alternative tour to the same destination before we had to return to the UK. It really was an awful disappointment, and put quite a damper on the holiday.
