- Haro - We will visit a spectacular subterranean winery beneath a centuries old village in the beautiful Ebro Valley of the La Rioja wine country. This winery will include a 1 hour tour and 3 subsequent tastings of their premium wines only available to clients who visit this special winery.
- Samaniego - Our next visits will be tasting experiences at boutique family-run wineries. We will have tastings of the most premium wines from their oldest vines. You will also get to sample their limited-quantity olive oil with fresh bread, cheese and chorizo.
- Laguardia - We will then head to the 10th century village of Laguardia for lunch at a local restaurant or pintxo/tapas bar depending on your preference and appetite. After lunch, we will take a leisurely stroll through the beautiful town pointing out sites of interest. There is also amazing photo opportunities of the entirety of the beautiful Ebro Valley.
- Bodegas Marques de Riscal - We will take you to see the Frank Gehry designed Hotel Marques de Riscal for photos and a walk through the vineyards.

Experience the essence of La Rioja, the apex of viniculture in Spain, through a journey from Bilbao that takes you through vineyards and wineries. You’ll be tasting the robust, berry-infused reds that have made Rioja a prime spot on any wine connoisseur’s map and appreciating the unique architectural designs of various estates, including one imagined by Frank Gehry. Accompany us on a guided walk through the ancient Basque town of Laguardia, ensconced within city walls, and soak in the incredible landscapes the region offers.
The tour includes a visit to three significant and iconic wineries that represent the peak of La Rioja’s winemaking prowess. These vineyards produce vintages that consistently rank within the top 100 Rioja wines, scoring over 90 on Robert Parker’s scale. Tasting sessions will include both red and white select wines, offering you a comprehensive understanding of the rich offerings of the La Rioja wine territory.

Brilliant tour of Rioja wineries - We had a wonderful time on our private tour of three premium Rioja wineries, led by Zach. Communication and information throughout the whole booking process and the day itself was great. The transfer from and back to where we were staying in Bilbao was very comfortable, with beautiful scenery. We had multiple delicious wines with local snacks at each of the wineries, with a full winery tour at one which was fantastic. Zach kindly also booked us somewhere for lunch in LaGuardia (at our request) where we had some delicious local food and more wine! Would highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting to visit some wineries in the area!

Fantastic tour of Rioja wine region - The wine tour of Rioja was amazing. We did it as a group of 6 (thank you to Craig/Joanne from Canada and Bjorn/Jane from Norway for their great company on the trip).
Irene was a fantastic guide - full of fun and enthusiasm. She gave us so much useful information about Bilbao and the Basque region.
We visited 3 wineries and enjoyed tasting so many different wines - each of the hosts was interesting and engaging. Along the way we stopped for many great photo opportunities and to visit other places of interest.
We would recommend this tour for anyone visiting this area. It is a really great day out!

Fabulous wine tour - We had a fabulous day! Enjoyed the drive, the wineries, the wine and food! Especially enjoyed a surprise visit to a small town in Rioja. It is one of the most charming places we’ve seen on our trip. Had fun having lunch on one of the small streets. We ordered way too much wine and drank way too much wine… A little bit of sleeping went on on the drive back!

Sunny day enjoying wine in the Rioja Valley - The drive to the Rioja Valley was well worth the trip. Once we arrived the weather was perfect and the tour started with a winery called Amerin. It was a full tour about the process of making their wines. The winery I enjoyed the most was from Valserrano. My husband and I enjoyed our tour guide Irene who was full of energy and very proud of being from Basque.

Loved it! - We had a fantastic trip with Jani, who was a super engaging and knowledgeable guide. She introduced us to the culture and history of the regions we passed through, and to passionate and talented winemakers at three smaller estates in Rioja Alavesa. Samples of both wine and the accompanying food were generous and delicious, and we picked up a few bottles at each place.

Amazing wine tour! - AMAZING wine tour! Jani, our tour guide, was INCREDIBLE! She was extremely knowledgeable about the region and the wineries. We happened to be the only ones on the tour that day so we got a private tour. The wineries she chose were all distinct and different. Each one had a special appeal and the wines were all excellent premium wines. We even got to taste some excellent Spanish olive oil and different salts at one of them. Best tour ever! Highly recommend!

Wonderful wine your! - It was a lovely tour, highly recommendable for people who like wine. Our guide was very nice and friendly, she came to pick us op directly from the hotel and she was perfectly on time. She was very passionate and enthusiastic giving us all the information. We visited 3 wineries and each of them was lovely. The wines are served with some food (bread, ham, cheese) which is typical Spanish. Overall very good experience!

Memorable, fun tour of La Rioja - We thoroughly enjoyed our Rioja tour. Irene, our guide, was so helpful by providing pre-departure info. The vehicle was very comfortable. On our drive, Irene explained about the Rioja area, their wines, and shared such interesting details about the Basque country. The 3 wineries we visited were high-quality, introduced to us by people passionate about their wines and traditions. We enjoyed lunch in Laguardia, a beautiful historic town. And on our return trip to Bilbao, we stopped near other wineries to admire their architecture. Thanks Irene for such a fun, memorable day. Eskerrik asko!
