Visitor - We had a great time at the aviary. Miguel was our guide and he was great. Gave us a tour on the ride out. And was so helpful during the walk through the aviary. He introduced us to local music and offered to take us on a drive through the market. What an experience. He was knowledgeable about restaurants and local tourist spots. Can’t recommend it enough!!!

Very cool experience - Cindy and her team planned our entire three days in Cartegena. She arranged all our tours and restaurant reservations. She also handled our transportation around the city. She made planning this trip very easy. She arranged three tours for us - food tour, history tour and national aviary tour. The tour guides John and Miguel were very friendly and knowledgeable. They were very attentive to our needs. We almost didn't go to visit the national aviary. We aren't passionate about birds. However, it ended up being my favorite tour. The best way to describe it is just by saying WOW. If you are on the fence about this tour, I recommend doing it. This place is not something you will find in the US. If you are looking to be lazy like us and have someone plan your entire trip, I recommend Cindy and her team. Everything was so easy and fun!

A great experience supported by qualified staff - Cindy and her staff provided a great experience in transporting me to and from my hotel in Cartagena to the Bird Aviary. I was accompanied at all times throughout the tour and my guide provided necessary translation during the bird show in the auditorium.

A highlight of our cruise - My husband has always been a bird guy, and when he found out that the National Aviary had a Harpy Eagle, he was all in. We were delighted and amazed at the variety of the birds who were hanging around voluntarily, not under any netting or in any enclosure. That lets you know they're fed well and treated well. Lots of variety. Our tour guide was Elkin, very good. Loved seeing the condors, and other exotics, as well as all the opportunistic iguanas, munching down the fruit meant for the macaws. Delightful, even in the 102 degree heat.

Fabulous bird Aviary - We took a tour of the National Aviary of Colombia starting from a cruise ship. Took about an hour ride to the island where the Aviary is located. It was a very comfortable and cool bus and the guide was exceptional. The weather was very hot in March. The walking path is a very moderate walking experience that anyone could negotiate. There are so many beautiful species of birds that you can see up close. The experience with the scarlet macaws and blue and gold macaws was wonderful. They are outside on a structure as you come into the Aviary. This is a photographer's Paradise. There are so many interesting species throughout the park. The toucans were also very interesting to photograph. They come right up to the edge of the enclosure to look at you. This is one of the nicest Avairy's I have ever visited and it is thoroughly enjoyable.

Amazing Experience - A Must See Stop in Columbia - Columbia, you should be very proud to have one of the finest aviaries in the world. We booked this excursion from our ship. We were not quite sure what to expect until we saw the 1,000 plus birds in the open and in cages. This is a photographers dream come true. We spent 2 1/2 hours here and could have spent a lot more. Birds were seen from the tropical forest, coastlines and mangroves, desert area and the Andean region. You will see every bird that you could ever imagine. There is lot's of walking to be done. The area is beautifully landscaped with palm trees and waterfalls.
