- Kurmanzhan Datka Statue - We will reach the Ala-Too Theatre where you will learn about the first meaningful mosaic art of the Soviet Union, created to symbolize peace between two nations over 100 years. We will pass by main buildings constructed during the Soviet era and arrive at the statue of the country’s second main heroine, “Kurmanzhan Datka,” known as the Queen of the Mountains. Here, you will learn about her nomadic lifestyle and her efforts for the Kyrgyz people, including how she facilitated the annexation between the Kyrgyz nation and the Russian Empire.
- GUM Chynar Mall - We will pass by the city center’s modern shopping malls and reach our mural “Slam Dunk on Trash,” which emphasizes that slam dunking litter is better than a basketball, especially in Bishkek and Kyrgyzstan where litter and recycling are issues.
- Kyrgyz State Philharmonic Hall - We will pass by three other famous graffiti works by the Kyrgyz artist group DOXA, who represent the country and the city authentically. Then, we will reach another center where I will show you the unique architecture of the Bishkek Concert House, the City Mayor’s house, state bank buildings, and the International University of Kyrgyzstan. Later, we will visit another mosaic in the city known as “The Path to Enlightenment,” which is large and illustrates the connection between Kyrgyz culture and Russian influence during Soviet times.
