Meet you at the airport or hotel, and we start our journey! On the first day, we travel along the Chuy Valley from east to west.
Burana Tower - The Burana Tower is a historical and architectural monument dating back to the late 10th and early 11th centuries. Located 15 kilometers from Tokmok, it was once part of the town and citadel of Balasagun. This archaeological site included a citadel, mausoleums, a mosque, a church, and a bathhouse, with many archaeological treasures discovered there. The tower, made of red bricks, currently stands 25 meters tall, with a base diameter of 9 meters and a top diameter of 6 meters. Inside, there are narrow stairs leading to the top. According to inscriptions and the chronicles of Mukhammed Khaidar, the Burana Tower was built for Balasagun Legislator Imam Muhammad. The Kalyan Minaret in Bukhara, the western capital of the Karakhanids, was built in 1127 and stands 46.7 meters tall. It is believed that the same architect, Usto Bako, constructed both the Burana and Kalyan Minarets. You can climb up this tower!
Chon-Kemin National Park - From Burana Tower, we continue to the Chon-Kemin Valley. Known as one of Kyrgyzstan’s most beautiful areas, the Chon-Kemin Valley is popular with extreme sports enthusiasts. Its namesake river flows across the Kungei-Ala-Too and Iliysky Ala-Too mountain ranges, stretching over 70 miles, with seven lakes in its basin. The valley also includes the Chon-Kemin National Park, a lush natural area rich in diverse flora and fauna. The valley’s sides are lined with conifer forests, home to various herbs, berries, and mushrooms.
Chon-Kemin to Kochkor to Son-Kol Lake is our trip for today.
Kochkor - In Kochkor, we will visit a small local museum. The families of this village have shared their old items with the museum, allowing tourists to see how Kyrgyz people used to live and what they used. At the same location, they make felt products. You can even try making felt yourself (for an additional price).
Song-Kul - At the end of our day, we arrive at Song-Kol Lake. This high-altitude lake belongs to the Naryn River basin. It sits in the central part of the Song-Kol Valley, surrounded by the Songköl Too ridge to the north and the Borbor Alabas and Moldo Too mountains to the south. The Song-Kol basin is characterized by poorly developed surface stream flows and substantial subsurface flow. Four perennial rivers—Kumbel, Aktash, Tashdöbö, and Karakeche—flow into the lake. In the southeast, the structural high is cut through by the Kajyrty River (also called Song-Köl in its upper course), which flows into the Naryn. Here, we sleep in a Kyrgyz National Portable House called a Yurt, just as the Kyrgyz people have for ages. Experience the atmosphere of nomadic life and enjoy the view of thousands of stars in the night sky.
After breakfast, we can enjoy the views, take photos, and possibly organize a horse ride or national horse games.
Tash Rabat - After many kilometers in the beautiful mountains, with numerous photo stops after two high mountain passes (Moldo Ashuu and Mels Ashuu), we arrive at Tash-Rabat, a 10th-11th century caravanserai. It is believed that Tash-Rabat was a key point when crossing the Tien Shan, providing shelter for merchants and serving as a fortification against robbers. Trade caravans passed through Tash-Rabat on their way to the cities of the Fergana Valley. There are several legends about this area. Here, we also sleep in a Yurt Camp.
Tash-Rabat to Naryn town.
Tash Rabat - After breakfast, we can visit the caravanserai. The entry fee is 100 som. Before lunch, we can go for a horse ride or walk around and enjoy the beautiful views. After lunch in the Yurt Camp, we head to Naryn town. It is a pleasure to enjoy civilization after two days in the wild. Dinner will be at a local restaurant.
Naryn to Kelsuu to Naryn. Visit another high mountain lake located near the Chinese border (special permits required).
Naryn to Small Naryn to Kochkor
Kochkor - At the end of the day, we arrive in Kochkor. Dinner can be ordered at the guest house or enjoyed at a restaurant.
Kemin to Orto Tokoi to Konorchek to Bishkek
Konorchek Canyons - If you enjoy a two-hour trek, visiting Konorchek Canyon will be interesting. This amazing tourist destination in the eastern part of the Kyrgyz Range resembles a miniature Grand Canyon in the middle of the Tian-Shan Mountains. Thousands of years of soil erosion have created an incredible landscape. The area is famous for the remains of the ancient volcano Seghizhan-Shokny.
Bishkek - Our final destination. In the evening, we arrive at the hotel, marking the end of our services.
