Transfer from Bishkek to Kok – Jaiyk Valley
Bishkek - Driving distance: 380km, Hiking distance/time: 7km/2-hours
Depart from Bishkek to the Kok–Jaiyk Nature Reserve located in the Jeti-Oguz Valley. The journey follows the southern shore of Issyk-Kul Lake before entering the Jeti-Oguz Valley. A brief stop is made to admire the Jeti-Oguz Canyons, known for their seven striking red rock formations. The trip continues a few kilometers further into the valley. Upon arrival at Kok–Jaiyk Valley, be captivated by the stunning scenery, with evergreen trees adorning the mountain slopes. After packing, hike through the valley to the yurt camp, which offers a view of one of the country’s most picturesque peaks, Oguz Bashy. Once settled in the yurt camp (2615m), take a short stroll to observe the local lifestyle and daily activities.

Hike to Karakol Valley over Telety Pass
Karakol Gorge - Trekking distance: 14km, Ascent / Descent: 836m / 1250m
Leaving the campsite, begin a steep climb to Telety Pass (3787m) for approximately 2-3 hours. From the pass, enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding gorges and rugged peaks to the south during lunch. Then, embark on a long descent (4 hours) into Karakol Valley, where tents will be set up for the night. Relish the lush, green valleys of Karakol after the challenging descent.
Hike to Ala Kul Lake
Ala Kul Lake - Trekking distance: 7km, Ascent / Descent: 1053m / 28m
After breakfast, cross the bridge and begin hiking through a steep gorge with green slopes adorned with evergreen trees. This day presents a challenge with strenuous walking over scree and boulders. Lunch is taken near Sirota Campsite at 3000 meters. After several hours of demanding ascent, be rewarded with the stunning Ala Kul Lake at 3500 meters, fed by surrounding glaciers. The view of this turquoise alpine lake is breathtaking. Camp is set up on the lake’s shore.
Ala Kul Lake to Altyn Arashan Valley over Ala Kul Pass
Altyn Arashan - Trekking distance: 14km, Ascent / Descent: 442m / 1471m
After breakfast, proceed to Ala Kul Pass at 3950 meters. The craggy and glaciated peaks of Terskey Ala-Too are visible from the top of the pass. Take time to admire these towering peaks of the magnificent Tian Shan Range. Descend the steep path to the beautiful Keldyke Valley at 3200 meters. Lunch is enjoyed in this valley. After a few hours of descending through lush green pastures, arrive at the camp at 2450 meters. Altyn-Arashan, meaning ‘Golden Spa,’ is renowned for its hot sulfur springs. Enjoy a relaxing bath in the hot spring pools to soothe muscle aches.
To Ak Suu village – Karakol City – Bishkek city
Bishkek - Trekking distance: 15 km, Descent: 450m, Driving distance/time: 460km/7-hours
Hike to Ak Suu village (4 hours) where a driver will pick you up for a short drive to Karakol city (30 minutes). The trail mostly follows a beautiful river flowing through the valley. The sight of snow on Peak Palatka at 5260 m or the “Swallow’s Nest Pool” under the open sky is unforgettable. Arrive in Karakol city for lunch. Afterward, continue to Bishkek, arriving late in the city.
