If you don’t want to taste the beer, they also have award-winning Ant Moore wines.
- Makana Confections - If you like Chocolate then a stop at Makana confectionary is a must.
- Saint Clair Family Estate Vineyard Kitchen - Fantastic wine and food and is one of our preferred lunch restaurants on the tour depending on the weather and the size of the group.
- Framingham Wines - Visit a very unique organic wine producer. Potentially enjoy a behind the scenes tour of their wine cellar with an in-depth explanation of the winemaking process. Enjoy a tailor made wine tasting of a selection of their wines.

Guided by a winemaker, the tour begins with an enlightening walk through the vineyard. Participants are encouraged to ask any intriguing questions and take stunning vineyard photographs.
Throughout the full-day tour, guests will visit 4-6 wineries, with the possibility of including a local brewery, depending on the group’s preferences. With over 40 cellar doors available, efforts will be made to accommodate any favorites. The focus is typically on New Zealand family-owned vineyards and wineries, but visits to small boutique and organic vineyards are also possible.
Please note that this tour does not include visits to Cloudy Bay, Fromm, and Hans Herzog. For those who consider Cloudy Bay a must-see, it is recommended to book the Gourmet Gold Tour or a Private Wine Tour.
A meal at a vineyard restaurant is a highlight of the tour, though it is at the participant’s own expense. There is also an opportunity to visit the Makana Chocolate Shop.

Marvellous Maurice - Fabulous day out with Maurice. He works in one of the winerys and is very knowledgeable about the industry generally and the vineyards of Marlborough in particular. On a more human level he was a great conversationalist and was easy to build a rapport with. We brought our 11 year old who would otherwise have been a bit bored but Maurice threw in a stop at a chocolate factory and a vineyard with a sheep dog and Liam, the tame sheep. Our son loved it. We stopped at Scott’s for lunch and had the seafood platter. OMG it was insanely good…

Amazing tour! - This tour was one of the best things we did in New Zealand, Cam was so knowledgeable and taught us so much about wines and the area. We went to 5 different winery’s and had a wonderful lunch! I would highly recommend 😀

Hop n Grape - Highly recommended Marlborough wine tour - My wife and I visited New Zealand's south island for about two weeks spanning October/November 2024. There we a number of 'bucket list' activities we wanted to cross off our tourist list while we travelled, one of which was a wine tour of the Marlborough region.
Hop N Grape popped up in our search for appropriate tours to undertake and we booked a full day winemakers tour for 3 November. Our guide Doug, an extremely warm and affable bloke, collected us from our hotel right on time.
Doug steered us (just us at this stage) to the first destination before we collected another couple and ended up visiting 5 wineries with a delicious lunch stop at one of them and a chocolate factory. The depth of Doug's knowledge and experience of all aspects regarding viticulture and beyond was of the highest standard. I would give this review more stars if I could, it is THE tour to take if you're considering a wine tour of the region.

A fun day in Marlborough - Had a great experience on the full day tour guided by Darlene. They were able to pick me up/drop me off in Picton for a small additional fee, which made it so much easier as I did not have a car. The tour was well-paced and gave us time to enjoy the 4 wineries we visited as well as lunch and tasting at St Clair Estates and a stop at the Makena chocolate factory. Although it may not always be that way, our group consisted of only 4 people so that made it even more enjoyable. We were warmly welcomed at all of the wineries and got to sit with the winery owner at the last stop. I also enjoyed the fact that we didn't get the standard wine tour talk that covered everything from harvest to fermentation to bottling, but Darlene focused on Marlborough's unique features.

A Great Day Out - We had a great tour with Darlene today. Just a small group of 7 on the tour but it was very relaxed and enjoyable. We visited 5 wineries and had a lovely lunch at St Clair. Stop off at the chocolate factory on the way home was a bonus. Darlene was very knowledgeable and a great tour guide. Highly recommend to other travellers.

Fun in the sun with wine - Excellent tour Darleen our guide was very knowledgeable friendly and fun. She tailored our tour to suit our tastes, nothing was too much trouble.i would highly recommend we had a very special day.

Fabulous day out - We thoroughly enjoyed our day out with Cam to the vineyards. Allowed us ample time do enjoy each of the wineries and had great insider knowledge to add. The chocolate shop stop was an excellent addition. Definitely recommend this tour.

Worth every penny! - We had a brilliant day out with our guide Darlene. My partner was on crutches and she did everything she could to make the trip accessible and easy for her to manage. Darlene was very knowledgeable about the wine and the area, she was more than happy to answer our questions and you could tell she enjoyed being at work! Myself and my partner felt very looked after, it was a small group of us and Darlene made sure we were all comfortable on our tastings, taking lots of pictures for us too! We went to some fabulous wineries and even stopped at a chocolate shop on the way home. If you are in Blenheim looking for a wine tour I can’t recommend hop and grape enough. If you get Darlene as your guide, even better! :)

Amazing tour with a great tour guide! - This tour was amazing! We did 5 wineries in total (Lawson’s Dry Hills, Villa Maria, Saint Clair - this is where we had lunch too, Clos Henri and Framingham).
First of all, if you are thinking whether to do tha full or half day tour, pls note that the full day tour only included 1 winery extra (Lawson’s) which also was the one nearest in the town. So, i started alone for the 1st winery and then we collected everyone else. Had i knew it, i would have also booked the half day tour.
Apart from that, the tour was great. We tried abt 5 wines on each winery. Some of them were very scenic. Also, we tried some very nice wines in all the wineries. However, if i have to choose one, my favourite by far was the Framingham! They have an amazing pinot gris, a devine riesling, a superb pinot noir, a lovely chardonnay! Their rose was also very nice!!! I would highly recommend u add this winery in your tour (u can certainly ask Hop n Grape to add it in the tour- they are very flexible and accommodative). The lunc at Saint Clair was very nice! I tried the roasted cauliflower and rhe green oysters with chorizo. Both were nice, but the cauliflower was fantastic!
Darlene who was our guide was amazing! She is a lovely lady, very knowledgable and enthousiastic about wines and she was a great guide throughout the tour. She tried her best to make everyone happy and accommodate everyone’s needs! She even stopped at a local chocolate factory for us to try some samples. Very nice chocolates but quite pricy I would say.
Overall, i would highly recommend this tour! If u like wine, expect to have an amazing day!
