A must go winter tour for Iceland - It was a very memorable trip. If you're visiting Iceland for the first time, you definitely recommend joining Troll's six-day island hopping. You'll be able to experience as much fun and sight as possible while being in safe hands. Our tour guide Johann is a very positive and enthusiastic person. He is Icelandic and has a lot of love and passion for his homeland. He is familiar with all places and weather conditions. We also saw the aurora several times with his guide.

Amazing 6 day trip around Iceland - We enjoyed the 6 day trip around Iceland so much! Gylfi was an amazing guide! With lots of stories and a great sense of time (we were always arriving a few minutes before the other groups so we could admire all the places almost in private 🤩!!). He made our trip a beautiful experience and we cannot wait to come back! Thank you so much!! Totally recommended!!

Wonderful experience around ring road - Johann is very attentive throughout the tour and share with us some insights and tips of each location e.g. what to take note and where to go. He is also a safe driver too. Troll Expeditions is a trusted agency that process refunds for any cancelled activities (horse riding and whale) within few days after tour due to weather etc even though the activity is included in the tour. Greatly recommended

Don't miss this tour! - What an absolutely beautiful experience with Thales! We couldn’t recommend this tour more. We’re very glad that we chose Troll Travel for our 6 day trip to Iceland, and we feel so lucky to have had an amazing guide, Thales! We had a wonderful six days together, and the memories from this trip are truly unforgettable. Every place we visited was breathtakingly beautiful, and we captured so many great photos. The tour was well organised with a perfect balance of driving, activities and rest stops. Huge applause and cheers for Thales! Hopefully we'll see you again!

Maggie is in a class by herself: a superwoman guide - My wife and I and our teenage son took the 6-day tour of Iceland over the Christmas 2024 holidays and had a tremendous time. I like to mention for calibration that we had taken six or seven group tours in as many countries before this tour, and this was surely the most enjoyable, partly because of the beauty of Iceland in the winter but mostly because of our wonderful, warm, funny, and entertaining superwoman tour guide Maggie. To say that Maggie is the best of the best does not do her justice: she is quite simply in a class by herself. Day in and day out she went beyond the bounds of duty to make sure that everyone in the group was having a good time. She worked incredibly hard to get us to see the northern lights, and then drove us for many hours back to Reykjavik on New Year’s Eve in time to experience the stunning firework display. I might also mention that I am an older man, and Maggie took particularly good care of me, always making sure that I felt comfortable. Indeed, we became friends for life, and even a week after the tour ended Maggie was still making sure on her own time that my stay in Iceland was as pleasant as it could be.

Awesome experience - Awesome experience!!!!! I had the time of my life seeing the beautiful landscape of Iceland and activities that were over the top. Istren was an incredible guide that was truly knowledgeable and committed to everyone on his bus. I would definitely recommend.

Worst tour ever - AVOID - ** I left this same review on google, but they deleted my review, saying that it's "fake information" when it's not. They delete all negative reviews about themselves. This is 100% true and I am requesting for a compensation for this but they are keep refusing. If I had known that they will skip more than half of the destinations and will be this irresponsible I would have never booked a tour. Avoid this company, their tour organization, attitude and customer service are the worst, simply refusing any compensation about below. I am writing to express my serious dissatisfaction with the recent tour I booked through your company. The itinerary I paid for was not followed as advertised, and numerous significant issues arose with no prior notice or adequate explanation. 1. Glacier Hike Not Provided • The itinerary clearly stated that if the glacier hike could not be done on Day 2, it would be rescheduled to Day 3. Despite this, the tour company made no attempt to arrange the glacier hike on Day 3, nor did anyone inform us of its cancellation. The guide told us that it will be done on day 3, but we realized that it was not happening at the end of the day. • Activities such as glacier hikes involve a specific cost, and if such an activity is not carried out, a refund should be issued. Other companies typically provide a full refund if a glacier hike is canceled due to weather or other uncontrollable circumstances. Given the lack of communication and no rescheduling, this is an especially irresponsible oversight. 2. Missed Gullfoss and Geysir • While I understand weather conditions can affect travel plans, the main reason we missed these sites was due to vehicle issues and resultant time mismanagement. The one-hour delay to change vehicles—during which we had to carry our bags—was avoidable with proper maintenance and planning. Had this been managed professionally, we could have visited Gullfoss and Geysir as scheduled. 3. Unannounced Change from Vök Baths to Forest Lagoon • I paid an additional fee specifically for Vök Baths, as listed in the original itinerary. However, the tour was switched to the Forest Lagoon without my prior knowledge or consent. Such a change without notice is unacceptable, especially when extra charges were involved. 4. Aurora Hunting Activity Omitted • The advertised northern lights (aurora) hunting activity did not occur. No clear notification or explanation was provided, leaving me unaware that this activity would not take place until it was too late. 5. Other Skipped Destinations (e.g., Seljalandsfoss) • Several other significant stops—like Seljalandsfoss—were simply skipped. Had I known these activities and locations would be removed or cut short, I would not have signed up for this tour. 6. Unprofessional Guide Behavior • I have video evidence of the guide using a phone while driving. This behavior is not only unprofessional but also poses a serious safety risk. I chose this tour specifically based on the advertised schedule, which influenced my decision to invest a substantial amount of money and time. The repeated failures to honor the agreed-upon itinerary and the lack of professionalism have profoundly impacted my overall experience. I have contacted Troll about this, but still waiting for a reply.
