A fantastic food tasting tour. - We chose a food tasting trip with Spring as we felt we really didn't know what foods to order in Vietnam or where to go in search of quality food away from the tourist trap areas, which tend to charge high prices and Westernise their menus. Spring was so helpful and informative, with everything from travel there and back as well as learning about the locality and customs of Ho Chi Minh. We really went off the tourist trails and every dish or drink that Spring introduced us to was absolutely delicious. We really felt she gave us the knowledge and confidence to eat well independently in Vietnam. We will definitely seek out her services if we return and thoroughly recommend her as a local tour guide - skilled, friendly, helpful and great English!

A fab and friendly intro to Vietnamese food and culture - Spring was a tremendous guide able to take us- a meat eater and a pescatarian - to a variety of spots to eat and taste a wide variety of dishes and drinks. Her English is excellent and she has a great sense of humour. We hadn't realised it was a private tour so that was an unexpected bonus. She answered all our questions and we felt that we ate till we were full to bursting and learned a lot about life in Vietnam. Afterwards she sent us the list of places we'd visited so were able to revisit our favourites at our leisure. It was good to venture into District 3 and explore a less touristy area too. We thoroughly recommend this tour for the start of your stay in Vietnam.

Fantastic - Elise was fabulous! We did the food tour and she took us to so many great spots. We got to taste some amazing bites we did not know or would have found. She was welcoming and a great guide explaining each dish along with some history about the areas. We highly recommend her and this tour, a true foodie and host of an amazing city.

Walking food tour with Spring - Spring our tour guide was so lovely, funny and knowledgeable. It was the highlight of our 4 days in Ho Chi Minh with amazing food in between walks in the small alleyways that we would have missed had we gone by ourselves. Our kids loved the food as well.

Fun & Authentic Experience - Elise is an authentic foodie who loves to share her knowledge of food. It was great getting a 1-1 tour with someone who is not just concerned about the taste of food but also the quality of the ingredients and how hygienically the food is prepared. She generously shared many other places around the city for me to try out and I can't wait to do just that. I definitely enjoyed our time together, and I recommend everyone to book with Elise.

An amazing introduction to Vietnam and its cuisine. - We did our food tour with Elise on the first day of our trip. It was an excellent introduction to the city and to Vietnamese cuisine. Elise was incredibly knowledgeable about both and shared so much with us. It was a pleasure to spend the evening with her and the perfect way to start our trip. We strongly recommend Elise as your food tour guide.

Food tour in Saigon - Hieu was a very knowledgeable and friendly guide. The 10 dishes that we tried were authentic and Hieu provided detailed descriptions of the origin and ingredients. All food providers had good hygiene. The tour was well paced and we were really full by the end of the evening.

Good food but way too much walking in the heat - My wife and I have been on probably 25 food tours spread across the globe. There are certain aspects that make a good food tour. This one hit on some and missed on others. First, there is the quantity and quality of the food. This tour provided an ample amount of food which was tasty without leaving us feeling bloated. So that was good. Next, there is the quality of the tour guide in telling interesting stories about the city and the food. Our tour guide was not great in this respect. While he was friendly, he struggled with English a bit and really did not give much information about the city or the food. Rather, it felt like we just walked from place to place and ate food. Because we did not have other visitors on the food tour, it was a little awkward. Third, there is the organization of the tour. This took on heightened importance because a spring day in Saigon is very hot and humid. It was sunny and 95 degrees farenheit (35 Celsius), but no steps were taken to minimize the amount of walking between stops. We ended up walking more than five miles in the heat. We were able briefly to sit down at a few spots but it would be smart to plan the places so they were somewhat close together. This tour did not do that. In fact we walked more than ten minutes from the initial meeting point to the first food, and it would have been easier to have met closer to that spot. So, on balance, I give this for three stars for the reasons set forth above.
