Boge - Bogë (definite Albanian form: Boga) is a village in the former Shkrel municipality, located in northern Albania. Following the 2015 local government reform, it became part of the Malësi e Madhe municipality. Historically, it was a bajrak of the Kelmendi tribe, situated at the northern headwaters of Prroni i thate, bordered to the north by Shala and to the south by Ducaj. Although originally part of Kelmendi, the village was later associated with Shkrel. According to Edith Durham, in 1908, the village comprised 75 families, all of whom were Catholics. The village is divided into two sections, Preçaj and Kolaj neighborhoods.

Theth National Park - Theth National Park (Albanian: Parku Kombëtar i Thethit) was established in 1966 in northern Albania. In 2022, it was merged to form the Alps of Albania National Park. Initially covering 2,630 ha (26.3 km2), the park is centered on the Albanian Alps, including the larger part of Shala Valley. The park was created to preserve various ecosystems, biodiversity, and the region’s cultural and historical heritage. It features high terrain with diverse natural elements such as valleys, rivers, mountains, waterfalls, dense forests, and rock formations. The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) classifies the park as Category II. The area is also recognized as an important Bird and Plant Area. In 2017, Theth was further designated as a Protected Historic Center.

Tower of Nikoll Koceku - The Lock-in tower in Theth, Dukagjin, is characteristic of the area. This fort, located at the village’s edge, served the entire community. It housed families who, due to blood feuds, were compelled to stay there (all males over 14 years old). Only the women were free to leave and tend to some land in front of the tower. Today, the tower is a tourist attraction, situated in an area of significant touristic value, south of Theth village and near the Shala river. The tower, built 388 years ago, has three floors, with the upper two featuring old wooden flooring.

Grunasi Waterfall - Grunasi Waterfall is a stunning natural attraction within Thethi National Park and the entire Albanian Alps, recognized as a natural monument since 2002. Located on the western slope of the Thethi valley in the Albanian Alps, it originates at the western base of the Boshi mountain peak, forming a narrow rocky channel through a limestone slope, then cascading from a height of 25 m. At the waterfall’s base, a pond forms, from which water flows into the Thethi valley, joining the Shala river at the start of the Grunasi canyon. The slope where the waterfall descends is covered by a dense forest. On sunny days, the water droplets create a rainbow at the base of the cascade, making it a rare phenomenon in the Albanian Alps and a significant tourist attraction.

Blue Eye of Theth - The Blue Eye is the most visited natural attraction in Theth. Located in the village of Kaprre, about 7 km from the center of Thethi village, this remarkable site is part of Thethi National Park. The Blue Eye of Kaprre, also known as the Black Well, spans approximately 100 m2 and is about 4-5 m deep, formed by the Black River’s flow descending from upper Kaprrea. Nestled between rocky and green slopes, the well’s depth gives it blue and emerald hues depending on the season, creating a captivating landscape for visitors. The Black River originates in Maja e Zeze and is primarily fed by melting snow, joining the Shala River in Nderlysa to flow into the Drin river/ Komani Lake.
