Great Day in Colombias Capital City - We took the City Tour early September and were blessed with a beautiful day. Our Tour guide Gigio picked us up from the hotel on time. Since it was a private tour we were flexible in choosing our schedule and decided to visit Monserrate first to avoid the big crowds which was a good decision. Waiting lines for the Funicolare and Gondola were still quite short. What a beautiful place with phantastic views over most of Bogota. Next we went to the old town (Candelaria) and started our tour at the Mercado Concordia with an exotic fruit and juice tasting before we went through the old cobblestone streets with shops and restaurants and houses with interesting murials to the Plaza Bolivar with the Cathedral, Supreme Court Building, City Hall and Parliament. We decided to skip the Botero Museum but visited Museo de Oro. Gigio was full of information and answered all our questions. His English was perfect and he made the tour very informative and entertaining. After a safe trip back he dropped us off at our hotel. We highly recommend this tour and Gigio for a great and informative day in Bogota.

Historical gold museum - There are so many museums near by it. When you go to gold museum. You could plan the time for all the museums near by , check the timing for the museums. Some of them are closed for certain days. It is full of historical gold pieces in the museum. You could learn a lot of history from it.

Great introduction to Bogota - Nice introduction to Bogota. Very knowledgeable tour guide and good driver. Marta was very personable and Andreas, the driver, was very skillful. I think this is a perfect tour when you have limited time in Bogota - or even just an introduction to get you comfortable with the city and its neighborhoods, culture and food.

Museo del Oro / Monserrate / La Candelaria w/ Raúl - Raul did a wonderful job in not only showing but patiently explaining the history, politics, arts, culture of La Candelaria, Monserrate, Museo del Oro, etc, in the latter half of the day tour. Special appreciation for Raul’s patience to answer our numerous questions as we were filling in the few gaps from our prior knowledge!
