Botero's art is beautiful - Free entry museum. It is the house of one of the most beautiful paintings collection. We have visited with our kid who was amused by the forms and shapes. From the Botero museum you can go to the next museums(free) just walking in.

A WONDERFUL MUSEUM FILLED WITH TREASURES AND THE WORKS OF THE COLOMBIAN GREAT ARTIST BOTERO - Located in a monastery like setting is a museum purchased by BOTERO and donated to the city of Bogota and filled with the artist’s personal art collection and his monumental works! I think it is free ! The art includes Picasso and impressionists plus Boteros paintings and monumental sculptures! A MUST VISIT IN BOGOTA

Not over until the fat lady sings. - Thankfully in Botero Museo that fat lady never stops singing, nor the fat man, kids, etc. The early Boteros, classic Boteros, etc. are worth the trip, in and of themselves alone. The bonus are some of the Post-Impressionist and Modern works that found their way here, as well as many other South American lesser known amazing artists. Whereas in Paris, one might be appalled at the touching of the art in the great museums, here one might find the social media obsessed crowds vieing for selfies and space to set up virtual photo studios a bit off-putting.

Bogota; the Place to Explore Botero's Art - Located in a historical building in Bogotá’s La Candelaria neighborhood, the museum is a traditional Spanish-influenced building with a courtyard and a picturesque view of the Monserrate. The art museum celebrates one of Colombia’s most accomplished artists, Fernando Botero. His work and style, called Boterismo, is unmistakable, as it usually depicts people and animals in exaggerated proportions and volumes. His paintings and sculptures (123 artworks) include the fat Mona Lisa and well-known Colombian figures as fat. Other 85 works by artists like Dalí, Degas, Leger, Monet, Picasso, and others, were donated by Botero and can also be seen at the museum. I find Botero's artwork (and even their titles) to be humoristic. Some of the artwork by other artists is not necessarily their typical art, which I found interesting (possibly because it is part of Botero's own collection). What is missing is information and titles in English. Titles are only in Spanish.
