Highlights
  • Bogota - TRANSFER BOGOTA - ZIPAQUIRÁ. Our Guide and Driver team will pick you up at the hotel (or the point you indicate) to begin our tour in our comfortable vehicles to the Zipaquirá Salt Cathedral, located in the town of Zipaquirá, 50 km from Bogotá, during a tour 1:30 hours approx. crossing the great Cundiboyacense plateau adorned with flower farms, small towns and livestock. We will offer you a complimentary bottle of water from our team, however we recommend bringing additional water.
  • Puente del Comun - Old bridge from colonial times, 1796, which still preserves the architectural beauty of the time. Located on the Bogotá River, right at the entrance to the town of Chía, used by ordinary people to bring their products to Bogotá, and by the brilliant Liberator Simón Bolívar to go to the battlefields. The bridge has been so important for Bogotá that even the devil himself was involved in its construction.
  • Chia - The old indigenous town of the Moon, where the ancient Muisca settlers had their ancestral temple to the Moon, today Chía, is a vibrant city, full of Shopping Centers, Clubs and Restaurants such as the famous Andrés Carne de Res.
  • Catedral de Sal de Zipaquira - Once in Zipaquirá, we will enter, accompanied by our guide, the Salt Cathedral, the First Wonder of Colombia, an architectural jewel of Colombian Engineering built inside an active Salt Mine and inside a gigantic Salt Dome. We will walk its Galleries, its tunnels learning about its history, its geological formation, its construction, its importance for the indigenous people, its connection with “El Dorado” and its sacred devotion to the Catholic faith.
This is a magical place that you cannot miss 180 meters underground, photogenic, but even photos will not do justice to its immensity and beauty.
  • Zipaquira - Leaving the Salt Cathedral we will go to Zipaquirá town, to walk through its streets where you can enjoy the local culture, and even if you dare you can enjoy its gastronomy, do you fancy an Arepa? a bonus bread? or maybe a Wafer? and accompanied by a coffee, ufff some delights.
  • Plaza de la Independecia - We will also visit its different squares such as the Plaza de la Independencia, the epicenter of great deeds, where those events that would culminate with our independence in 1819 began to take place.
  • Plaza de Zipaquira - And then the monumental Main Plaza, once used as the Market Square and Barter of the Pan de Sal, today still surrounded by colonial houses that still preserve on their balconies and walls vestiges of untold stories and all of them crowned by the imposing Diocesan Cathedral of Zipaquirá, whose unique architecture emerges among the Andean mountains of the Cundiboyacense plateau.
  • Bogota - TRANSFER ZIPAQUIRÁ - BOGOTÁ. At the end of our tour, our driver friend will take us back to our hotel to continue enjoying Bogotá, the capital, 2600 meters closer to the stars.

I want to come back! - The experience was excellent, very good in every way. On trip's service was impeccable, good punctuality, good service from both the guide and the driver of the Van, which was incredibly comfortable. It is beautiful to see and feel what man has built 180 meters below the ground. And then the visit to the central square of Zipaquirá full of history. The activity would not have been the same without the guide who made the experience very fun and full of information, it is great to meet someone who loves their country so much. My family and I recommend this tour with On trip. I want to come back!
