Eat Your Way through Colombian History and Bogota Culture - Julien’s dedication to the gastronomy and history of Bogota is readily on display as a tour guide during our food walking tour. Highlights include: - introducing us to the Colombian custom of hot chocolate and cheese with a hearty serving of the largest tamale I’ve ever seen (stuffed with meat, carrots and egg); - meandering through a residential development, Torres del Parque, by one of Colombia’s leading architects, Rogelio Salmona, where Julien pointed out Salmona’s use of indigenous symbolism, architectural modernism and locally-sourced brick; and - enjoying a game of Teja, drinking locally-brewed beers and eating BBQ pork in a biergarten tucked behind a colonial facade in the Candelaria neighborhood. A self-described hippie, Julien ended our tour in a small shop that sold indigenous herbs, teas and distilled drinks. Here, we learned about indigenous culture and how it continues to be lived by Colombians like Julien today. All in all an incredible experience that I highly recommend to anyone.

Tour guide - Juliana was a fantastic tour guide! She shared so much insight into Colombian cuisine and took us on a wonderful journey through town. The walk between stops was especially enjoyable—it gave us a chance to take in the scenery and burn off some calories before indulging in the next delicious treat!

Interesting and Comprehensive Tour - 3 of us went on the tour with Julien, who was very knowledgable and passionate of his work. We walked to different neighbourhoods and got to try many different dishes. If you just arrived in Bogota, this is a good tour to take. In addition, since the tour ends near Candelaria, you could continue to explore the museums and plaza nearby.

Great value, so informative, delicious food, amazing guide! - I can't believe how great this tour was! We absolutely loved it. Our guide Andres was so amazing. First of all, he's a super good historian, he literally had an accurate answer for every single question (food, history, cultural, political) that anyone asked him all day. Second, you could tell that he was super passionate about the stops that he took us to and that the tour was really designed with a ton of intention. He focused on foods of the Andes region, made sure to incorporate a lot of indigenous culture, but also did a great job of showing us what the life of a local Colombian is like, through food. All of the food was so so good. There was a great variety in the stops as we got to try food, drinks, beer, tea, coffee, breakfast, snacks, treats, meals, etc. He even bought a bunch of fruits I'd never heard of that were local to the area, and gave us a few to try at each stop while we waited for our food - a brilliant way to keep the fun going. The path that we walked was great too, and very well deigned, and we learned a lot about Bogota and life in the city as we walked. Andres was a great facilitator of fun, information, conversation, and had great recommendations on how each food should be tasted and eaten. It was all around a wonderful and thoroughly enjoyable day, and so much bang for your buck. We loved it, thanks!
