Highly recommended! - This was an excellent introduction to Bologna on our first day in the city. Our guide, Claudio Cento, was very knowledgeable and shared a good level of detail with us. We saw all of the main sights, including going inside the Basilica di San Petronio, to see the world's largest sundial in a church. Highly recommended!

A two hour walking experience worth doing! - Francesca, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable and informative about the area and it’s history. Francesca demonstrated a pride and joy in sharing this walking experience with everyone within the group.

Perfect pace and level of detail - Bernadetta was the perfect guide. She gave us plenty of interesting facts but did not fire them at us like a machine gun. Two hours was the perfect length for me, as I was ready to sit down and have lunch afterwards. We did a neat circuit of the city centre, with places linked together cleverly, helping us to remember the themes. It left me with a wishlist of a couple of places to go back to for a more in depth explore another day.

A Good Guide Makes A Difference - Our guide Elana (Alana?) was charming, passionate, and informative. It’s obvious she wanted to share the rich and fascinating history of Bologna with her visitors. Grazie Elana!

A gem of a city - Did a day trip on the train from Florence. What a beautiful city. My trip gave me an idea of the city so I can return for a few days next time to really enjoy it. One of my now favourite Italian cities

City tour with competent guide (2 hours). - The city tour with a very competent, well-positioned and friendly guide was extremely interesting and insightful. One discovered pretty much most of the centrally located sights. There was always a good answer to questions.

Tour Guides Need to have a firm script and visit important sites such as University rooms. - The tour was just average. We were delayed waiting for late arrivals, then further delayed because the audio equipment and ear pieces did not work. The tour guide was lovely, but got sidetracked by a few guests who continually interrupted asking their own personal questions, thereby leaving the rest of us to wait. At the end of the tour, I felt I had learned very little about Bologna, so just a very average score from us.

Very dirty city - It's a beautiful city but the dirtiest I've ever seen. Porticoes and buildings with bulldozers and millions of stickers (graffiti is one thing and emblematic buildings are another). It's a shame. It was even worse than the picture.
