Kick off your day with a robust espresso at a coffee house nestled beneath the city’s portici (covered walkways), then take a leisurely stroll past an ornate theatre towards Bologna’s medieval market, the Mercato di Mezzo. Visit the Piazza Maggiore and San Petronio Basilica or, if you are up for an exercise, scale one of the Two Towers - Bologna’s trademark - and take in a breathtaking view of the medieval city center.
