Mamma mia, what a night!!! The real Italian food! - My wife and I had an amazing experience. Annamaria and Francesco are the best hosts. We had a lot of fun, and even more so we had a perfect time together. From the warm reception to the dinner time, everything was super nice. We absolutely recommend this experience with Annamaria. They are 10 stars, not five! :)

Wonderful Local Cooking Experience - We had an exceptional experience with Roberta! She welcomed us into her lovely home and prepared a delicious apertif. She taught us fabulous recipes which she shared with us after and taught us about her cuisine which is a blend of food from Florence and Bologna. She was a splendid host and made us both feel very welcome. She also shared several other goodies to teach us more about the local cuisine! I would recommend cooking with Roberta to everyone!!

Wonderful experience! - Roberta was a very welcoming host. Her home was beautiful and she made us feel comfortable as soon as we entered. The food was delicious and we learnt so much from her. This experience was very good value for money as included all food and drinks for the evening and our host shared her homemade specialties and favourite local foods. They tailor your experience to your likes/dislikes including vegetarian and the instructions for how to get to the location were very clear. We have made memories to last a lifetime and we can’t wait to try out the recipes for our guests at home. Would definitely recommend this experience to others. Grazie mille Roberta!

Fun and Informative! - My husband and I had a wonderful time meeting Alessandra and learning how to make pasta and tiramisu with her. She was delightful, taught us a lot about making pasta, and shared many insightful insights about Italian food overall. We highly recommend this experience if you are like us and really enjoy getting to know local people when you travel plus learning something new!

The best experience! - I cannot recommend this experience more. Such a privilege to be welcomed into Annamaria’s home. The lesson was such a memorable experience and highlight of the trip. They were able to tailor to cater for vegetarian requirements, and shared their family recipes. We will take these recipes home to our families. We cannot wait to make the recipes for ourselves at home. Thank you again, will recommend to all our family and friends who visit!

Great evening! - We had the best time with Margherita. She was a very generous host. She made the evening fun and interesting while we learned to make 2 different types of traditional pasta along with tiramisu. This was such a great way to gain insight into local culture and traditions. Definitely the highlight of our time in Bologna!

Fun-filled learning afternoon! - Fun-filled learning afternoon! Vanessa (our adult daughter) and her boyfriend Cristian experienced Rosa’s cooking class during their short stay with us in Bologna, which was special for them. Rosa is a consummate hostess who invited us (the cooks and us, Vanessa’s parents) to her sunny apartment in Bologna's historic center to start with appetizers and prosecco.
Vanessa and Cristian learned to prepare vegetarian spinach “meatballs” (their request), traditional tagliatelle with ragout (typical meat sauce), and tiramisù. The two learned to prepare fresh pasta using egg and flour, rolling out sheets of dough that they cut into narrow strips to cook, and topping the pasta with a ragout they also made. Rosa is an experienced cook and patient teacher who encouraged the cooks during each step of their process. Tiramisu was a big hit to make and taste for dessert…and Vanessa and Cristian now have an Italian treat to prepare for the November Thanksgiving feast that they will host! Thank you Rosa for taking photos of each step of the cooking class process…our family now has a unique photo album to renew our Bolognese experience memories!
What a treat to be invited to share in tasting the cooks’ preparations around a family kitchen table while Rosa talked with us about Italy’s cooking methods and history, as well as changing cultural life. Rosa is sociable and enthusiastic about both cooking traditional dishes and sharing Bolognese culture and lifestyle as only a native can be. We are grateful for Rosa’s memorable cooking expertise shared through Cesarine. We now have a better understanding of typical Italian cooking and life...and an Italian friend in Rosa! We highly recommend Rosa and the Cesarine experience to anyone visiting Bologna.

Amazing experience cooking with a local - We booked a cooking class via Cesarine for our stay in Bologna. And we are so happy we did! Me and my husband really recommend the cooking class with Rosa. She is an amazingly inviting person, you will feel at home immediately. And of course you’ll have to meet Tony, her cat. You can tell that she is very passionate about food and she will tell you everything you would like to know about making the best fresh pasta, tiramisu and her special meatballs. We shared some good conversations over good food and had the best time with her. If you don’t take this class you’re really missing out on an amazing experience.

Update - rating should be ZERO - As an update: I thought I would let you all know about the way this firm treats its customers now that they have been in touch with me.
Having allowed me to book/pay for my course (and incur the associated cost with paying by credit card) I am forced to cancel it because they can't fulfil the booking. No reason given (I have the text messages from the teacher). Admittedly they processed the refund promptly but again I incur fees from the credit card.
The result is I have had to pay fees for something that wasn't available - there is a word for that.
They refuse to cover the costs I've incurred due to their pathetic administration - nor have they had the courtesy to tell me why they couldn't run the course and taken my money for. It's not a lot but I wouldn't have incurred these costs if the course, as advertised, was not available/fully booked.
They say they empathise with me - no they don't. That they care about their reputation, really? Look in the mirror, it's not a good image and I'm sure the people of Bologna would not be happy to see how visitors are treated by this lot.
