Best way to get your grumpy teens away from their screens - make pasta! - We made the pasta base for tagliatelle and tortelloni - Grazia had pre-prepared a ricotta & sage filling for the tortelloni and a delicious ragu for the tagliatelle. Making pasta was a great way to engage our teenage son with an activity and spend time chatting while we worked around Grazia’s table. Grazia was a lovely hostess, bubbling with cultural tips, culinary history and gossip about Bologna. Best of all we had a great lunch at the end - primo of tagliatelle with ragu, secondo of tortelloni with a browned butter and sage sauce with a touch of tumeric for colour, a semifreddo dessert with crisp sparkling pignoletto white and limoncello to finish. Making pasta always reminds me how delicious fresh pasta tastes and makes me wish I had the time to make it more often.

Lovely learning and eating experience in Bologna! - Our family of four had a wonderful experience making (and eating!) pasta with Grazia! None of us had ever made pasta before, and our kids (9 and 12) have no cooking experience at all. Nevertheless, with Grazia’s detailed and patient guidance, all of us successfully made two kinds of fresh pasta. Grazia then cooked the pasta for us so we could immediately enjoy it. We also learned all sorts of new-to-us details about Bologna and Italian food more broadly through our conversation with Grazia. I highly recommend incorporating this hands-on experience into your visit of Bologna!

Highlight of our trip! - My husband, son (17), and I spent the day with Grazia. She was amazing! Very welcoming and she made the experience special. She is very knowledgeable. We have made pasta quite a few times and worried we wouldn’t learn a lot, but that wasn’t the case. We learned a lot about different pastas/sauces and foods in various regions of Italy. The best part of the day was spending time making an amazing memory. It was like sitting at your mom’s house making pasta together.

Best experience! - AMAZING, this was so much fun. Grazia was so welcoming and friendly, she worked with us to tune our skills and give us the knowledge to make pasta on our own. I had been making pasta but it never turned out right. After this class I am working to be Pasta Nona! Not only did we make the pasta but we used our pasta to make our lunch. Learning with Grazia is well worth the time and expense!

The skills I‘ve always missed - It has been a real pleasure! We‘ve made pasta before - it was good but far from the perfection Grazia demonstrated in her course. Simple steps with a focus on the right ingredients and feel for the dough. We‘ve had a great time and learned something we‘ll enjoy for the rest of our lives.

Don’t Miss This!! - We loved our experience with Grazia. What a special time we had! She was warm and welcoming and we learned so much. She speaks beautiful English and has a sweet, gentle dog. We most appreciated her wonderful teaching style, encouraging and informative. She did everything possible to ensure our time together was enjoyable. Once we made the fresh egg pasta, Grazia prepared it for our lunch. Yummy sauces (2 different ones) and a delicious desert and wine at a lovely setting left nothing to be desired. If you are in Bologna, don’t miss this! Since we were there in November (not a big tourist season), we were able to be the only participants, making the experience even better.
