Not your typical cooking class!! - As you muddle through the vast array of cooking classes feeling unsure about which is the best choice. If they all sound the same and what you are looking for is not only a cooking class but a true Italian experience you are in the right place. This is NOT your typical cooking class! Antonio is far from typical. My daughter and I left knowing that this was a tour we would never forget. We have been on several tours in Italy that were truly amazing and Italy has some amazing things to experience but none that compared to meeting and working with Antonio! It was the best and most unforgettable time we have had in Italy. And Antonio is not forgettable or typical. He is exuberant, warm, kind, eccentric, passionate, emotional, complimentary, humourous, compassionate, very Italian and man can be cook! He's truly a master chef and as we enjoyed sipping some wonderful Italian wine we got a real education in cooking and preparing Italian food. His surroundings of his humble kitchen don't feel perfect or sterile. They feel like a place where he surrounds himself with little things that he loves that makes one feel at home. And the thing he obviously loves the most is the art of cooking. The Ragu he taught is to make is like experiencing an explosion of flavors in your mouth. Fireworks with each color representing a different taste all coming together to make what my daughter and I considered to be the best Ragu we had ever tasted. He encouraged us when creating the filling for the tortellini to add our own personal essence to the flavour to make it personally our own. More Parmesan? More salt? He was patient, encouraging and kind as we learned the fine art of making the hand made pasta which certainly was not as simple as throwing some eggs into flour and getting this perfect dough. To get the pasta to be the perfect texture it took work and technique that clearly must be practiced over time. We laughed, we worked, we chatted, and my daughter and I truly felt we got to know this wonderful man, Antonio and he was the best part of the experience. And this was not just a class. It was an experience and one we will never forget because to meet Antonio is to love Antonio and he will leave his impression on your heart. We feel that during this little class we have truly experienced Italy in the best possible way! Antonio thank you for the wonderful time and wonderful learning experience. Our family will adore us when we go home and cook this amazing meal for them. You are priceless and from here on out will always be considered a friend.

Pasta and fun - Excellent few hours in the company of Antonio. We made a ragu for the tagliatelle that we made and a butter sauce for the tortelloni. Would say the main exercise was making the 2 pastas from scratch. Loads of helpful hints on the way before tucking in with a bottle of wine at the end. Apart from the food aspect Antonio is an interesting and knowledgeable guy to chat to. We went way over the alloted time. Was about a 20 minutes walk from heart of Bologna. Would recommend no problem.
