- Via Dr. Joseph Streiter - Here, we’ll visit a traditional Bolzano bar where you can savor delicious canapés with speck and Bauernschinken. Speck is uncooked, salted, and smoked pork aged from six months to two years, seasoned with a variety of spices that make it incredibly flavorful. It’s often served with traditional bread and pickled cucumber. Bauernschinken is a cooked ham flavored with the same spices used in the speck process, offering a unique and tasty cold cut.
- South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology - At one of the most typical and delightful restaurants in the area, you’ll taste the famous canederli, dumplings made of stale bread moistened with milk and bound with eggs and a small amount of flour. Alternatively, you can try spätzle, small dumplings made with wheat flour, eggs, water, and boiled spinach, topped with cream and speck—simply delicious.
- Ca’ de Bezzi - Here, we’ll sample the renowned beer. From delicate light beer to spicy strong beer, the South Tyrolean beer scene offers a diverse range.
- Piazza delle Erbe - Bolzano is also known for its bread, especially Laugenbrot and Brezen. Laugenbrot is made by immersing bread rolls in a lye solution before baking, sometimes stuffed with cheese. Brezen is a ring-shaped bread with a golden, shiny crust covered with grains of salt.
- Via della Mostra - Bolzano is also famous for its delectable desserts. In a well-known “Konditorei,” you’ll enjoy the typical strudel, the most famous dessert beyond our borders! This pastry is made from a thin sheet of dough rolled up with filling and baked. Thanks to the incredible variety of apples, this dessert is a true delicacy.
- Monumento a Walther Von der Vogelweide - This is where our tour concludes, but not without a delicious coffee first!
