Following the 2015 local government reform, it became part of the Himarë municipality. The village is home to Muslim Albanians who speak the Lab dialect of Albanian. Borsh is bordered by Fterra, Qeparo, and Piqeras, and has a population of 2,500 residents.
Qeparo - Qeparo is a charming village that offers visitors a glimpse of the region’s beautiful stone architecture and serene, relaxing white sandy beaches alongside clear turquoise waters.
An old legend about the division between old and new Qeparo tells of the seaside village being established where a light once shone in the darkness. Qeparo Valley, with its lovely olives and aromatic citrus trees, appears on your right after passing Porto Palermo bay. Beside the valley lies a long beach with a stunning turquoise sea stretching to the horizon.
Porto Palermo Castle - Porto Palermo Castle, with its fascinating history, is located near Himara on Albania’s beautiful southern coast along the Ionian Sea. The fort is situated in the enclosed bay of Porto Palermo, surrounded by well-arranged beaches, a few kilometers south of Himarë. It forms an island connected to the mainland by a narrow strip of land. The fortress served as a Soviet submarine base during Albania’s communist regime, and today its semi-abandoned tunnel and barracks draw visitors’ attention, along with the stronghold walls and gates built by the powerful Ali Pasha of Ioannina.
Himare - Himara is located along Albania’s Ionian coast in the southwestern part of the country, stretching from the extreme south of Llogara Pass to Qeparo Mountain in the southeast, covering a straight length of 22 km. The town of Himara is the capital of the region, which includes Himara town and seven villages: Palasa, Drymades, Ilias, Vuno, Piluri, Kudhesi, and Qeparo. Traveling south from the village of Vuno, visitors will reach the small town of Himara, which consists of two main parts: Old Himara, situated atop Barbaka hill, and the new part built around the gulf of Spile.
Vuno - Vuno is a village with significant historical importance, known as the place where Lord Byron and the famous writer Edward Lear paused to admire the architecture and church murals during their travels across Albania. Although it lacks a beach, Vuno is very authentic, featuring donkeys, hand-carts, and traditional houses with vineyards.
Dhermi - Dhërmi is a village in Vlorë County, Albania, and is part of the Himarë municipality. The village is situated 42 kilometers south of the city of Vlorë and roughly the same distance north of the southern city of Sarandë. Built on a slope of the Ceraunian Mountains at approximately 200 meters in altitude, Dhërmi comprises three neighborhoods: Gjilek, Kondraq (also known as Kallam), and Dhërmi itself. The mountains descend southwest to the Ionian coast, with Corfu visible in the distance to the south. Nearby is the village of Palasë. Recently, the coastal area has experienced a boom in the construction of accommodation facilities, such as wooden villa complexes. Additionally, it is considered a nightlife destination by Albanian youth. The village features a new large promenade by the sea, with all facilities integrated into the natural surroundings.
