Brilliant storytelling - I'm a published Civil War author. William Stillwell's tour of the antebellum period on Beacon Hill was entertaining and flawless. One of the best walking tours I have taken.

Great tour from an excellent tour guide in a small group setting. - Our tour leader, Dana, was very knowledgeable and did a great job telling us the history of Boston during the civil war years. Having a small group like HUD Town Tours is definitely the way to go.

Passionate and knowledgeable guide - Learned a lot about such an important topic. Long but not too long given the large amount of information given. Only complaints are he checked his Apple watch too often and the nice laminated should have been in a binder in order as i usually see so that he didnt have to shuffle through them.

Informative and Engaging! - I loved this tour with Dave - it was informative, interesting, and a manageable length in the summer heat. We had a lucky opportunity at the end of the Black Heritage Trail to see inside of the African Meeting House; this isn't a standard part of the tour, but Dave and his colleague adjusted the tour to accommodate the opportunity when it presented itself. I would definitely recommend this tour to other groups of students, tourists, or others!

I felt so engaged for the full 2.5 hours, thanks to guide Dana's knowledge and passion for the subject! - I appreciated a phenomenal "Civil War"/"Beacon Hill"/"Black Heritage Trail" tour with guide Dana today. Dana exudes enthusiasm and deep knowledge, and makes brilliant connections with our living history today. I could practically hear the bricks and cobblestones applauding guide Dana's telling of the story!
