Great Freedom Trail experience! - Ben was a fantastic tour guide — very knowledgeable and engaging! Even my teenagers enjoyed it!!! We learned a lot, even though we have done other Freedom Trail tours. So much history! Also felt the tour was a very good value for the price.

Highly recommend this tour of Boston’s historical sites in a condensed period. - Ben, our tour guide, is a GREAT story teller. He weaved in interesting facts, including the backstories behind well known histories: famously including countering the “British are coming” declarative from Paul Revere. Once pointed out, it made perfect sense. Ben spoke to the “convenience” of our historical understanding, like the Boston Massacre, largely orchestrated, according to Ben, but Samuel Adams. While he included young kids frequently in his storytelling, the 1-1/2 hour duration will be challenging for the younger set to pay attention. Still, there were many families with younger children and I didn’t see anyone split off.

Amazing Experience! - Ben was a perfect guide! He made the experience fun and memorable. It was exactly what I was looking for as far as an entertaining and knowledgeable experience goes. Ben was also able to very easily accommodate my family (including a 15 month old in a stroller) without skipping a beat throughout the tour. We did this as our first activity in Boston and I am very glad we did. We left with a list of places we wanted to check out and see throughout our trip!

Good tour - While difficult to hear, it was a good tour. A shame there were sooooo many in the group. I think that made it challenging. The guide was good and dressed in period clothing. One cannot come to Boston and not walk parts of the Freedom Trail.

Great tour with Captain Pickles - Very interesting tour of part of the Freedom Trail. “Captain Pickles” shared lots of information, but at a good level of detail without going too long on any one item. He used a portable microphone & speaker which really helped you be able to hear when you were farther back in the group or when city traffic was noisier. Group size was also good. Would recommend this tour. The price point was also good.

Too crowded and Too Uncouncious of the audience! - We have been on many walking tours and felt that this tour was overbooked, our Guide was not considerate of the many people on the tour and in general we could not hear a majority of the commentary even when making an effort to be as close as possible. The major issue was that the tour was overbooked and at first we considered this to be difficult for the Guide, but later realized that the Guide did not make any effort to deal with the audience he had, but rather was more interested in what he had to say and didn't make an effort to allow us to be a part of that experience.
