Best of Boston for Newbies - Learning Boston’s history, stopping and having a drink at Cheers and Samuel Adams taproom, Quincy Marketplace, good foods, loads of souvenir shopping and lots of people.

Comfortable, good stops, mostly worth the money. - Better than a “Big Bus tour” for sure, as the narration was in person by the driver and overall was interesting, informative and at times funny. Seats were very comfortable. The points of interest for trolley stops were well-planned. If you have never compared a Big Bus Tour to this type of trolley, the experience on this trolley was more personal, more informative and more fun. And definitely more comfortable. We do enjoy the open double decker feel of a big bus tour, and the one driver on this trolley route spent an inordinate amount of time bragging about Boston sports teams. This is the home of the revolutionary war … for goodness sakes … and we heard more about Boston sports teams than anything else. We aren’t Yankees fans or Phillies fans, or Eagles or Giants or Jets fans (which were all universally denigrated) so we weren’t offended, per se. But with the incredible history available in Boston, we sure would have appreciated more DETAIL on the lead up to the Revolutionary War and more on the war of 1812, and less sports talk. That’s why we did not give this tour a 5. Do slightly better in history, please.

A bit disappointing…. - My family and I were visiting Boston for college tours. I booked the trolley so we could enjoy the city in a confident and relaxing way. We ended up waiting 30+ minutes at some stops. Or when a trolley arrives, it would be at max capacity, so we will have to wait for another one. This was frustrating and not what I expected. So unfortunately a bit disappointing.

Don’t get on with Big Wheel - Every year a group of six friends from Georgia USA go on a girls trip. This year we chose Boston. We bought tickets for the Hop On/Hop Off tour for Friday, August 9. Started at Stop #12 with Moses. Got off at Stop #1 for an hour or so and got back on a bus with New York. Both of those tour guides/drivers were wonderful. We got off at Stop #7 to have lunch and one drink at Cheers! Got on the next bus with Big Wheel. Four of our group sat near the front of the bus. He told us we were not allowed to talk on those rows. We honestly thought he was kidding and just engaging with us. However, he kept referring to us talking over the sound system so the whole bus heard him. Yes, we would say things to our friends we were sitting by but not loud or boisterous. Actually, very little talking at all. I know that I was looking at my phone which was on silent. Googling things he was telling us about. Apparently, he didn’t like that either. At Stop #11, he basically looked at us and said he would not be moving the bus until we either moved further back or got off! We moved further back as we only had one more stop. He then preceded to say this is what happens when he picks people up from Cheers. Several other customers commented back to him how ridiculous he was to say that. Mind you, this was all over the sound systems so the whole bus could hear. He even said haven’t you talked to each other enough already today!!! What a jerk! The six friends range in age from 55 to 75, We are all good productive law abiding citizens! Thank you Moses and New York for two good bus rides but Big Wheel needs to learn how to treat people, in my opinion. We could not find any information on the website saying those particular rows were the no talking zone!! It was a great tour but just ended with an angry man. We certainly hope you will address him for his rudeness.

Totally oversold - Started off well with Moses our guide who was great and we were on the first tour of the day. Problem is they don't have enough trolleys for the number of tickets they sell which makes hopping on and off impractical else you get stranded. It was the weekend but they charge more for that anyway. We were in a queue of 40 plus people at the tea party stop and trolleys just turned up full which was hopeless and wasted 45 minutes - oversold and under delivered. Try one of the other tours.

Your driver the evangelist. - Your driver, a man named Twin, started our tour questioning all of us as to whether we believed in God and then launching on a spiritual sermon. I had to stand up and insist that he start the tour or I would get off and complain. He did a good job after that but someone needs to help him understand that he shouldn’t be imposing his beliefs on people who have paid to have a tour.

Waste of money - This was a total waste of money. We waited almost 20 minutes in the rain for a trolley. When it finally arrived it was full. We ended up walking. Paid almost $90 for the 2 of us for the day. They were nowhere to be found. Plus they ended at 5 pm.

Poor me. - One of the tour guides was awful. His name was Twin? He sat through MULTIPLE green lights to talk about how rich everyone was and how poor he was and how he dropped his wife off at a protest she knew nothing about. We missed the tea party because of him. We got on his bus at stop 5 before 3:30 and got off at 14 at 5:15. He PARKED in front of a revolving door to talk about the updated fire codes that we had heard about between stops 1-5. We had 5 sad kids.
