Trip of a lifetime - We had the most amazing time on this safari! The entire experience was flawless from start to finish. Our guide, Six, was absolutely phenomenal—calm, incredibly knowledgeable, and made sure we had a truly memorable experience. The team was extremely organized, and everything ran like clockwork. A special shoutout to the two chefs who prepared the most delicious meals throughout the trip—we were blown away by the quality and variety of the food in such a setting! This safari exceeded all our expectations, and we can't recommend it enough. Thank you for such an unforgettable adventure!

Camping 3 days 2 nights, great experience to recommend! - A great experience with Kalahari tours. The team is super friendly and competent. Our guide Thiza really gave himself to find the animals and we were rewarded with many elephants with their young, a leopard and even lion cubs. Unfortunately we had half a day of rain but rewarded by the encounter with a leopard, it was worth getting wet. The camp is located inside the park. Sleeping there makes it possible to really enjoy the best hours to see the animals with beautiful light. The camp team, Bennet and Ponzo, were also great. They cooked everything on the campfire, even bread baked in a bush oven. We were able to enjoy the sounds of the bush during the night, a real experience. Definitely a stay to recommend!

Book it! - I cannot say enough amazing things about this experience. We chose the 2 night, 3 day Chobe park package. It was highly organized from beginning to end. The meals, the safari drives and the safari boat rides were all so well done. The food out in the bush was prepared daily by Meshack and his assistant Dichcko, and tasted amazing! Did I mention he made fresh bread? Furthermore, we were particularly lucky having our tour guide, Leo, who had a keen sense for tracking the animals, was incredibly knowledgeable and just an amazing person to be around. We were able to see tons of monkeys, hippos, many lions and giraffes, hundreds of elephants, antelopes, zebras and one super cool leopard. I would highly recommend that package, with those incredible staff! It was an experience I won’t forget.

Top 10 Lifetime Experience - Wow. Where do I even begin. We did a December 9-11 safari (3 days 2 nights) although my review would apply the same for the 2 day 1 night safari. It started off with a 7am pickup and transfer from Victoria falls to the Botswana border crossing where the driver helped us through immigration and handed us over to our fabulous tour guide Leo. He drove us 45 minutes to the Kalahari riverside office and Coffeebuzz cafe in Kasane where we had an included breakfast and another tour guide took us on a several hour River Safari cruise during which we saw lots of wildlife including hippos, elephants, crocodiles, and buffalo among others. We returned to the cafe after the river cruise for an included lunch before setting off around 130 for our afternoon game drive which lasted until sunset around 630 at which time we arrived at our campsite. We had bathroom and snack breaks during the afternoon game drive. This afternoon game drive was life changing. We saw hundreds of elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, and dozens of other animals including an incredible 23 different lions, and a very elusive leopard. This was purely due to our very experienced safari guide Leo who has 15+ years as a safari guide. He spotted fresh leopard tracks and checked every hiding spot in the area until we found the leopard sleeping under a bush. The vast majority of the lions we saw that day were also thanks to Leo spotting tracks and following them. All the safari guides regardless of the company they are with stop and share sighting info with each other so you have a huge increased chance of spotting lions and leopards by going with a company vs the self drive option due to their animal sighting intelligence sharing. We saw basically all of the main animals you can see in Chobe on the first day which is quite rare. One important note: all of the lion, giraffe and leopard sightings came between 4-630pm after the day trippers left and as we campers went deeper into the park. Of note there is only one luxury came lodge (chobe game lodge) on the Kasane side of the park which allows you to sleep in the park, otherwise camping is your only overnight option if you want the sunrise and sunset game drives. When we arrived at our campsite, two other fabulous staff members, Meshack and Dichcko, had our campsite all setup and supper prepared. Most of the reviews on here don’t speak enough about how good the campsite setup is. Not only does everyone/couple have their own tents but the staff members construct a temporary outhouse where they dig a hole and place a toilet seat on a frame. You then put sand over your business and it leaves no smell or fly issue like usual outhouses. They also construct a temporary shower structure where they hang a bag from a tree and fill it with warm water so you can have a warm shower each morning if you wish. All meals were very high quality for camping standards and very tasty. Our cook Meshack even baked fresh bread over the camp fire for two of the meals. It was a very impressive bordering on glamping camping experience. Warning: There are no fences keeping the animals out but we felt safe and were safety briefed and the workers dealt with the honey badger and monkeys that did visit our site. Leo explained that no animals try to get into your tents similar to how no animals try to get into the safari vehicles but it’s a different story if you were to get out of the safari vehicle or wander off the campsite at night (you might become lunch for an animal if you were to do that) We started the next morning with breakfast and a 630am game drive that lasted several hours before we returned to the campsite for lunch and some down time before heading out for our afternoon game drive around 3 till 630 (sunset) Nobody can start prior to 630am or end after 630pm although this may vary during the year depending on sunrise and sunset times. We once again saw lots of wildlife on the second day (everything but another leopard) with the best sightings in the early am or late pm when the day trippers were not in the park. Most only stay one night but we stayed a second night and so our last day ended with an am game drive and then we ended by returning to the Coffeebuzz / tour office in Kasane for lunch and then another afternoon Safari cruise on the river done this time by our guide Leo who got us amazingly close to hippos and elephants just like he got us within feet of lions and the leopard. Khalahari went above and beyond to make our experience amazing. Definitely a Top 10 lifetime moment thanks large in part to our guide Leo and our campsite staff Meshack and Dichcko. Of note: How many animals you see will largely depend on the weather when you go and some luck. Once the rainy season arrives (usually in October) the animals drink from water holes deep in the park and don’t come to the river to drink where all the safari roads are so sightings are limited. Whereas in dry season they need to come to the river to drink. Usually rainy season starts in October but Leo told us it didn’t come last year at all (2023) and as of our early December 2024 trip the rains had still not come which played a large in why we saw so many animals. Also this tour company is one of the few that operates year round so we had one person join us for the first night but had a private safari experience for our second night at no extra cost!! In closing, I can’t recommend this trip enough. See some of my pics for some of the highlights from our trip :)

Fantastic experience! - My daughter and I made a trip through Namibia and Botswana, part of which was the camping experience in Chobe, 3 days and 2 nights. And it was unforgettable, one of the most beautiful experiences of an otherwise fantastic journey. Everything was perfectly arranged, from pick up to return. The camp was great, right in the park and without fencing. We have not felt unsafe for a moment, despite the sounds of roaring lions in the night and rumbles of animals around the tents. They just know very well what they're doing. Super grooming, incredible what those men could prepare in food on the wood fire! So much seen and experienced at the game drives, with an extra mention for Mundu who was simply fantastic. A wonderful balance between respect for nature and wildlife and as a tourist getting as close as possible. And tireless in conveying knowledge and his love for nature. We had a very nice group and laughed a lot at the wood fire in the evening. After those intense days, it almost felt like friends. And yes, it is sleeping in tents but the mattresses are really comfortable, there is no toilet block but the bush shower feels like a treat and the bush toilet just really good, no internet but how lovely is that, getting up early but you don't really want to do anything else when you are there.

An Experience I'll Never Forget - I wasn't quite sure what to expect when my friend and I booked a 3 Day 2 Night camping excursion in Chobe with Kalahari Tours but I was blown away by the experience. KG's, our intrepid guide for the duration of the trip, extensive knowledge of the terrain, flora and fauna of the area truly enhanced the overall experience. Sleeping in a tent beneath the stars in Botswana with the sounds of the wild surrounding us, having delicious meals prepared on the fire by our campsite chef and loading the jeep for early morning safari runs where we'd track down the movement of animals as they made their way to and from the Chobe River are memories that I will cherish for a lifetime. I'm so pleased that I took a chance on doing something a bit outside of my typical comfort zone.

Absolutely Must-Do in Chobe - Kalahari Tours is one of the best experiences I’ve had in Africa. The company is so great to work with, quick to respond, and flexible to meet your needs. They even offer flawless, hassle-free transfers to and from Livingstone, Zambia and Kasane, Botswana. My friend and I booked the 3day, 2 night camping trip in Chobe but asked to extend an extra night and day. Kalahari made this easy and we enjoyed 4 days and 3 nights with Axe as our guide. Axe is the best guide we’ve had in Africa! He’s personable, funny, knowledgeable, and works very hard to find you the wildlife you’re interested in. We saw endless lions, a couple leopards, wild dogs twice, sable antelope and so much more. I’d absolutely do this trip again and will request Axe every time. Camp life is superb with fully cooked meals ready to eat when you get back from game drives. The cooks take camp food to a new level. The camp even had an outdoor shower and bathroom with privacy walls around them. All in all exceeded our expectations in every way. Would recommend to anyone wanting to experience africa under the stars

One of the most serene, stunning 3 days of my life - My friend and I took the 3-day 2-night safari with Kalahari Tours from Vic Falls, and, let me tell you, we had an amazing experience. Purely by chance, we were placed with Opie, an incredibly kind, charismatic, funny, knowledgeable, patient, and considerate guide. it ended up just being us two and Opie throughout the trip (though a few other safari-goes joined us at camp on the second night). Opie was immediately welcoming and extremely dedicated to finding super cool experiences and sights for us. We spent a day learning how Opie tracked leopards and lions, and were rewarded at sunset with a shockingly close leopard encounter. On other days, Opie found every species of antelope at Chobe and taught us about their differing behaviors. One thing that particularly stood out to me was the relationships Opie maintained with the other tour guides at Chobe--any time another safari crew would drive by us, Opie would slow down, greet them, and exchange information with them about where certain animals could be found that day. That kind of conviviality really added to our experience, and made us feel happy and welcome in his care. His respect for the animals, for the land, and for the people there made us feel like we were having an authentic and rich experience without it being at the expense of the safety and wellbeing of the animals and land. The staff at the camp--Meshak and Dihako--were warm, attentive, and had great senses of humor. They took excellent care of us and the food cooked by Dihako was always delicious. Surprisingly, it was a delight to be awoken by Meshak before sunrise every morning, served tea and a light breakfast, and head out on the early morning game drive. The value we got for the price we paid was exceptional--our safari experience was essentially private, and they took care of everything from border crossing, transportation, all the logistics, and every detail while we were in Chobe. If I could, I would give Opie and Kalahari tours 6/5 stars.

We watch elephants, lions, impalas, girafes, buffalos, crocodiles living their lives and it was amazing. The nights in the bush camp were... wow! To sleep hearing the roar of lions was wonderful. We knew that we couldn't go out of the tent but at the same time we felt perfectly safe. Because, the other good part of the experience was the efficiency and kindness of the guides. G, (or you spell Gee?), you were just the perfect guide, so attentive, kind, witty... We could feel your love and respect for the animals and nature. The moment of the lioness with the two cubs, unforgettable. Thank you, thank you for so many things. Say hello to the baboons from us, please! What else? The food was very good, the facilities too. Everything was just perfect. It really worths the money you pay for it. I strongly recommend Kalahary Tours if you want have the experience of your life.
