A Stroll Through History

Our adventure began in the heart of Braga, a city that effortlessly blends the old with the new. As we gathered in front of the Arco da Porta Nova, the entrance to this historic city, I could feel the excitement bubbling in my children. The promise of exploring one of the oldest churches in Europe, Sé de Braga, was enough to capture their imaginations. We continued our journey through the charming streets, making our way to the Santa Bárbara garden. The vibrant flowers and well-manicured lawns provided a perfect backdrop for a family photo. The choice between climbing the stairs or taking the water-powered funicular was an easy one for my little adventurers. The funicular, being the only one of its kind still in operation in Europe, was an experience in itself. As we ascended, the panoramic views of Braga unfolded before us, leaving us all in awe.

At the top, the sanctuary’s architecture and the surrounding gardens offered a serene escape from the bustling city below.
