Embark on a private day hiking tour of the untouched Piatra Craiului National Park from Brașov. Your knowledgeable guide will lead you through Romania’s Carpathian Mountains along one of two possible 5- to 7-hour trails, dictated by the climate and the preferences of your group. You might traverse the slender Zarnesti Gorge, trek through woodlands and fields, gain insight into local enterprises such as mountain husbandry and cheese production, and drop in on alpine villages or a mountain cabin for a homely meal. The size of the group is restricted to eight individuals to maintain a custom-tailored experience. Entrance prices are not comprised.
The mountain’s name originated from a fortress constructed by the Hungarian Kingdom to serve as a custom, supervision, and security point at the southern boundary of Transylvania, nestled at the foot of the mountains, towards the close of the 14th century. The fort’s name in the German language was Königstein.
The mountain is locally referred to as The Stone (Piatra).

- Please bring your own mask; we provide hand sanitizer. We are cleaning vehicles after every tour.
- Between June and September we make a stop to an authentic sheep farm.

Trekking in the Carpathian mountain's - I booked a day trekking trip for myself and my son to see the beauty of the Carpathians mountains.
We certainly were not disappointed, our guide Mihai was first class in every way and gave us a detailed safety talk before we commenced then pointed out the amazing flora and forna along the way.
All in all probably the highlight of our trip to Brasov

The land, the people, the place. - The hike is a great way to stay within your ability level and still see and experience some amazing scenery. Our guide was so knowledgeable and generous it was value add on value add. Not only a great way to appreciate the natural environment, but also the history and culture of a unique people and their country.

Breathtaking views - Andreea gave us the best tour we've ever had in our lives. The route was breathtaking and with the best sceneries we've seen, but most of all, she was so knowledgeable, approachable, friendly and patient. She made us feel not only safe, but inspired and confident. We learned so much about the Carpathians, Romania and so much more. We can't wait to come back to Romania and go on another hike under her guidance.

Stunning views - My friend and I really enjoyed this experience and it was the highlight of our trip in Romania. Isti was really great! He told us lots of interesting facts about the history of Romania and ensured we were happy the whole way through the hike. He carried our coats and water bottles which was really kind of him. He targeted the walk at our level which we appreciated. He also stopped by Bran castle so we could take photos. We would definitely recommend to others interested in booking this trip!

Stunning mountain hike - Our guide was Mihai who was a brilliant mountain guide. My partner had sprained his ankle a few days before and wasn't as mobile as normal but Mihai adapted the route for us with no problems and we still covered lots of ground (almost 15km which isn't bad on a sprained ankle!) and the views were stunning. Mihai gave us lots of information about the local wildlife and ways of life as we went around, but with a really nice balance of quiet to take in the beautiful scenery.

Do not miss this tour. - I was lucky to have a guide who tailored the all according to my physical capabilities. The tour was informative and I experienced the Romanian national parks. Communication was excellent. A great day.

Amazing - We had a wonderful experience with our guide Isti. He was very friendly and welcoming and we were grateful to learn a lot about Romania from him. The views on the hike we're spectacular and we were able to go on a very fun adventurous route that included lots of climbing. This really suited what we wanted to do but there were plenty of other available routes to suit different hiking abilities. Overall it was a great experience and we would really recommend it.

I was delighted for two days excellent tours, non commercial, very well personalised and precise - Excellent and friendly guides, with deep knowledge of the tour subject. Beautiful hiking experience - We had an amazing time hiking with our guide from active travel! They offered us to pick us up at out hotel in Brasov. We were asked for preferences and the tour was adapted accordingly. We were afraid to meet bears in the mountains but our guide gave us a very safe feeling. He had a lot of experience and leaded perfectly through the mountains. He even carried a rope for a more technical part of the path in case we needed more support. We passed a canyon and climbed the peak of one of the mountains. The nature was incredibly beautiful and in many areas completely untouched by humans. In general we had an unique experience, it could not have been better!
