Great Excursion - This was a great tour. Interesting to hear about the miners and the history and evolution of the mine. The panning for gold and other gems at the end was fun. My son was sure excited about the treasures he got to take home.

Great mining tour and panning and wonderfully warm and knowledgable staff! - The people who work here really made this experience so wonderful! Everyone was really friendly, great with kids, and so knowledgable. Just genuinely nice people and a really fun experience for my two girls (8 and 10). I saw plenty of adult getting into the gold panning too though. I recommend doing the tour and the gold panning. I also recommend renting boots so that you don't have to worry about wet pants and shoes!

Interesting - Our tour guide (Mike) was incredible. He did not shy away from discussing some of the harrowing labor practices during the mine's active years, and he really helped cultivate a sense of empathy for people in he past. He was incredibly knowledgeable and great with the kids on our tour. The entire experience was interesting.

Don't miss it. - Our guide in the mine was great and we all had more than we expected panning for gold! We came for the kids, but the grownups had just as much fun!

Former schoolteacher elementary kids did awesome with the tour - Michael was our guide and had been a former school teacher for first through third grades. We had our two foster sons with us that both are getting ready to go into third grade. They were both excited about the tour and really appreciate that Michael wasn’t put off with all their questions. He was great with answering them and giving the boys the opportunity to try out several activities that were common at that time. It was an hour well spent and will do it again when we come out next year.

Great gold mine tour - Really enjoyed the experience. Learned a lot about the process of gold mining 150 years ago, and appreciation for the hard work of extracting the gold. Tour guide made it interesting and humorous. Kids enjoyed the experience of panning for gold at the end. of the tour. I would recommend it.

Cool and informational - Caves are always cool! It was neat to see how the miners worked. Ian even let our son try out the drill. Thank you for the fun!

Had to do something fun - This was the best thing to do at the beginning of the day. It was so much fun. The Australian was funny. I liked it when we walked through the mine and then they used a candlelight to show us how dark it can be. This is great for all ages

COUNTRY BOY MINEZ - Loved your mines! But the tour was short, I wish I would spent a little more time in the mines. The tour guide really looked like he wanted to go home, which I totally get, but I spent a lot of money to be there. But, however, I will say that something unexpected happened which lengthened my commute, and the people there had no issue moving up my time slot. I'm really thankful for that, it happened literally instantaneously, and they were so nice about it. I came here for a birthday and everyone had a really good time. My only main complaint is that I thought the price was a bit steep for the experience. The mines were definitely cool, and everyone had a blast, but $50 seems like quite a lot, if they were like $35 it would seem a lot more reasonable.

Nice, but not what you think it will be. - It was interesting to see how the old timers worked. Misleading to say “descend “ into the mine, when you actually walk into a horizontal tunnel at ground level. Guide did a good job. There is no active mining going on.
