Entertaining History - My fiancé and I were looking for things to do during our stay in Colorado, and I’m so happy we found Country Boy Mine! Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining, and it was so interesting to learn about the conditions miners endured all those years ago. Then after the tour we panned for gold in the creek for a good hour. It was so much fun and I can’t recommend this experience enough!

Fun and fascinating for all ages! Bring a coat - Highly recommend this tour to experience an actual mine tunnel and hear a LOT of fascinating details about what it was like to live here and work the mine. The guides were knowledgeable, entertaining, and particularly adept at engaging the kids in the group. Everyone had a great time! The best part was the guides sharing the excitement with kids when they were panning for gold at the end of the tour. Thanks especially to the guides who put my nephew on cloud nine by sharing their excitement over the garnet he found!! For reference, it is about 48 degrees F in the tunnel, and you walk about 1000 feet horizontally through the same tunnel that miners used to move rock out by railcar.

Struck it Rich - Thus was a great experience for all of us (my wife and me, a grandson, a niece and two nephews). Most of us took the tour of the mine which was quite authentic (because it is authentic). It gave you a real feel for what the miners would have experienced, not a cleaned up, dressed up version many cave attractions present. We also panned for gold which all of enjoyed immensely. The kids took home many little treasures (though none of us struck it rich). A couple hour fun time in Breckenridge.

Great trip back in time - So cool to go deep into the mine and to see a day in the life of a miner. Kids really enjoyed all of it, especially the panning for gold.

Best day in Breck! - Our boys - ages 7 and 5 - had so much fun on this tour followed by panning for hours. Rich in history, this mine and surrounding environment was so entertaining for kids and adults alike. Ashton was our tour guide and he was so knowledgeable and entertaining! The GM, Jonathan, could not have been more hospitable or accommodating to our boys! He went above and beyond (he’s a Texan so 👍) and we couldn’t be more thankful for pleased with our afternoon spent with Country Boy Mine. (Don’t miss the donkeys, Dynamite and Goldie!)

Disappointed - Save your money...we have been on other mine tours and this was the worst...very little to see and not much in the way of education...skipped panning for gold in their little pond...very poor value
