- Chippewa Creek Gorge Overlook - Approaching the Tinkers Creek Gorge Scenic Overlook offers a stunning view of the picturesque Tinkers Creek and its surrounding gorge.
As glaciers receded and rivers began shaping the terrain, water gradually wore away layers of soft shale, eventually creating the sharp, steep cliffs seen today.
- Bridal Veil Falls - Known for their delicate, gentle cascades that resemble a bride’s lacy veil, these falls feature a branch of Tinkers Creek cascading 30 feet down a shale gorge. The beauty of this waterfall is truly captivating! The falls are accessible by a short 500-foot walk from the nearby parking area.
- Great Falls of Tinkers Creek - Head towards the walking path near the stairs and benches, and follow it for a quarter mile to reach the falls.
What makes the Great Falls of Tinkers Creek remarkable? In the 1800s, these falls were vital to the nearby town of Bedford. The waterfall’s energy powered various industries, including a sawmill and an electric power plant. Quite impressive!

Boston Store Visitor Center - If the French House was the place to be in Boston during the 1700s, today’s must-visit spot is the Boston Mill Visitor Center. Often referred to as the ‘front door’ of Cuyahoga Valley National Park, this center offers a wealth of experiences.

Brandywine Falls - Standing at 60 feet, these falls are the geological highlight of Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Observing these falls is like taking a journey back in time.
Approximately 400 million years ago, a vast ocean covered this part of North America. Over time, layers of mud accumulated on the seafloor, forming slabs of soft shale. Today, these dark rock sections form the base of Brandywine Falls.
- Brecksville Nature Center - Soon, we’ll pass the Brecksville Nature Center, a combination of museum, park, and school. Here, visitors can learn about Ohio’s natural history, enjoy a hike along a wooded trail, and admire live animal exhibits. The Prairie Loop Trail, starting here, is short and easy, offering relaxing prairie views.
- Station Road Bridge - Welcome to Station Road Bridge! In the 1880s, railroad passengers disembarked here to visit Brecksville Station. Amidst steam and smoke, workers loaded crates of milk, cheese, and lumber onto trains, while passengers admired the newly-built Station Road Bridge.
- Jaite Mill Historic District - In about a mile, a cluster of bright yellow houses will appear at a crossroads. These were the homes of workers at the nearby Jaite Paper Mill, a successful business in the Cuyahoga Valley.
Founder Charles Jaite, initially employed at a large paper manufacturer in Cleveland, grew tired of city life in 1905 and established his own paper mill in this lush, tranquil valley.
-
Deep Lock Quarry Metro Park - Half a mile ahead is Deep Lock Quarry Metro Park. Besides quarry remnants, the park features a large stand of buckeyes, Ohio’s official state tree. This charming park might have an unexpected connection to your breakfast today.
-
Everett Covered Bridge - This vibrant red bridge spans Furnace Run just before it joins the Cuyahoga River. During the canal era, the Everett Covered Bridge enabled farmers and workers to easily access the Ohio and Erie Canal. The bridge was constructed over Furnace Run following a tragic accident one winter night.

Hale Farm & Village - Hale Farm dates back to the early 1800s when farmer John Hale established it. Over the next century, the Hale family maintained the farm, cultivating grains and vegetables and harvesting maple syrup each winter.
