Additional Information

Brest, the most western city in France, deviates remarkably from the traditional French city image. Despite being heavily devastated during the war, there’s a sense of uniqueness and pride in its location at the ‘edge of the earth’ and in its spirited, eccentric residents. Over the course of our two-hour tour, we’ll be exploring the unique aspects and hidden treasures that define our city.

We’ll journey from the City Hall Square to the urban cable cars, delving into Brest’s cultural and historical landscapes. We will gain insights into its architectural legacy and historical background, as well as an interesting overview of Brittany’s cultural and historical identity.

The tour convenes at 10.30 am at Multiplexe Liberté, a cinema located in the main square (tram stop: Liberté). Cruise-goers will be conveniently deposited directly in front of the square. Look for the rust-colored building on the right—that’s the cinema. Your guide will be the young lady sporting mini hulahoops on her back!

  • Not recommended for people who have difficulties standing and walking for a couple of hours, we’ll be walking less than 3 km over 2 hours, at a leisurely pace.
Location
Multiplexe Liberté
Avenue Georges Clemenceau
In front of the Cinéma Multiplexe Liberté, I'll be the girl with the pink hulahoops on my back!

CaroBrest gold medal of the guided tour - Brest without Caroline? Unthinkable! In a city that starts from a very far aesthetic level and cultural interest, Caroline knew how to challenge us, make us take another look at her city, with a lot of knowledge and fun. After more than 2 hours to follow and listen we are conquered by this city that has been able to make its weak points real assets and prove that with self-mockery and without chauvinism it is good to live in Brest

Brest on foot - Great visit, Caroline gains to be known, she is a character in her own right, very involved in the life of her city. We discovered things we would have totally missed without his (funny) comments and (infinite) knowledge!
