• Harrison’s Cave Eco-Adventure Park - Start your Cave & Monkey Zipline Experience with our Discover Barbados short introductory film, taking you on a virtual journey across the island. Then, delve deep underground with our tram tour into a centuries-old subterranean world filled with picturesque streams, waterfalls, and stunning stalactite and stalagmite formations. After exploring Barbados from below, gear up for thrilling zigs and zags on our Monkey Zipline, an adrenaline-pumping treat! Soar just 100 feet above the ground. Afterward, take a relaxing stroll along our nature trail, reconnect with nature, and learn about local flora and fauna while capturing memories at our photo spots. Visit our bird aviary to meet different species of birds.

• Animal Flower Cave - Located at the northernmost point of Barbados in the parish of St. Lucy, the Animal Flower Cave gets its name from the sea anemones found in its pools. Some pools are deep enough for swimming. The cave has several openings offering spectacular sea views. The walls are colored green and brown by the oxidation of copper and iron, with formations resembling lizards, turtles, and hands. Visit the clifftop bar and restaurant for the best lemonade in Barbados, along with other drinks and local dishes, including a range of cutters. The surrounding cliffs offer spectacular views of the northern coast where huge Atlantic waves crash against them. There is also a large children’s playpark and stalls selling local jewelry, art, and crafts.

• Barbados Wildlife Reserve - Stroll freely among animals feeding and playing in their natural environment. See agouti, armadillo, Brocket deer, pelicans, and caimans. Monkeys are most abundant at afternoon feeding time. Reptiles include snakes, iguanas, turtles, and tortoises. Parrots, flamingos, and peacocks add bright splashes of color. Dangerous animals like pythons are kept enclosed. Top Tip: Arrive by 2 pm to see the monkeys, especially the babies, being fed!

• St. Nicholas Abbey - Built in 1658, this Jacobean Great House is one of only three existing in the Western Hemisphere. The property has been tastefully restored as a sustainable heritage attraction and working plantation, producing its own unique single cask rums, which have received international acclaim. The tour includes the Great House, gardens, small museum, factory, distillery, a short movie circa 1930, and rum tasting. For enthusiasts, the private Rum Experience Tour is bookable on select days with owner Larry Warren. An authentic Victorian steam railway also operates on the plantation.

• Bushy Park Barbados - Go Kart Racing or karting is a motorsport discipline using open-wheel, four-wheeled vehicles known as go-karts or shifter karts. They are usually raced on scaled-down circuits, although some professional kart races are also held on full-size motorsport circuits.

• Sunbury Plantation House - Built around 1660 by Matthew Chapman, an Irish/English planter and one of the first settlers on the island. Sunbury Plantation House is over 300 years old, featuring mahogany antiques, old prints, antique porcelain dolls, and a unique collection of horse-drawn carriages. The original name was Chapman’s Plantation, then Branker’s Plantation, and finally Sunbury Plantation. It is the only great house in Barbados with all rooms available for viewing.

• George Washington House - A historic house where the future first U.S. President George Washington is alleged to have stayed in 1751. He was 19 years old and traveling with his half-brother, Lawrence Washington, who was suffering from tuberculosis. George Washington contracted smallpox during his stay and was nursed back to health at the house. Barbados was the only country outside the present United States that George Washington ever visited.

• Welchman Hall Gully - Located in the parish of St. Thomas, this three-quarter mile long gully is home to tropical plants and trees, including nutmeg, bamboo, clove, and palms. The gully was formed by the collapsed roofs of caves and is still geologically connected to the adjacent Harrison’s Cave. Throughout the gully, you’ll see stalactites and stalagmites similar to those in Harrison’s Cave. The tour is a self-guided walk along a well-maintained shaded path, with the option to explore bamboo groves and cave formations, and see monkeys at play.

• Bathsheba Beach - Legend has it that Bathsheba, wife of King David, bathed in milk to keep her skin beautiful and soft. The surf-covered white waters of Bathsheba, rich in minerals and life, are said to resemble Bathsheba’s bath in both appearance and health-giving value. The beach features wide white sand beaches, dramatic rock formations, and huge boulders that are actually rock formations broken away from ancient coral reefs. The village of Bathsheba is home to a small community of fishing folk and their families, with guest houses, local rum shops, and restaurants along the coast.

• Gun Hill Signal Station - The largest and most important of the military outposts in Barbados, with military associations from at least 1697. Tropical gardens with a stone lion and a path to a hilltop signal tower offer panoramic island views.

• Earthworks Pottery - A state-of-the-art, modern pottery that produces exceptional pieces of art made from earth and clay. Pottery making and decorating classes are also available.

• Hunte’s Gardens - One of the top garden spots on the island, featuring over 84 species and varieties of birds, flowers, and plants. The garden includes both common and rare species found in the West Indies.

• St. James Parish Church - Among the four oldest surviving churches in Barbados, located near the site of the island’s first settlement in Holetown. The original wooden church was erected in 1628 and replaced by a coral-stone building 60 years later. Features include mural tablets, stained glass windows, and a bell with the inscription “God bless King William, 1696,” which pre-dates the American Liberty Bell by 56 years. The burial ground contains some of the oldest graves on the island.

• St. John’s Parish Church - One of Barbados’ oldest church sites, featuring classic Gothic-style architecture. The cemetery offers panoramas over Barbados’ eastern beaches and contains grand headstones and crypts of intriguing and famous past Bajans.

• Shark Hole - A beach most tourists never visit. This secluded swimming spot boasts picturesque rock formations, a protective coral reef, and beautiful blue water. The water in this area is notoriously rough and not safe for swimming, but the shoreline here is protected by coral and rocks.

• Bottom Bay - An attractive remote cove with a picturesque beach, bordered by rough jagged cliffs. The perfect place for a ‘desert island’ atmosphere, with coconut palms, soaring cliffs, intriguing caves, and translucent turquoise waves.

• Foursquare Rum Distillery - Located on 8 acres of a former sugar plantation, this working rum factory produces a wide range of rums, including Doorly’s, Old Brigand, and E.S.A. Field. Guided tours include a small museum and a bar for tastings.

• Barbados Museum & Historical Society - Museum with galleries dedicated to Barbados’ social and military history, decorative arts, and more.

• Mount Gay Visitor Centre - Discover the secrets behind Barbados’ finest and most celebrated golden spirit – the 300-year-old Mount Gay Rum. Guided tours include a small museum and a bar for tastings.

• Speightstown - Also known as Little Bristol, Speightstown is the second-largest city center in Barbados. Named after William Speight, a member of Barbados’ first Assembly, the city is located 12 miles north of Bridgetown in the parish of Saint Peter. Explore the Speightstown Mural when you visit.

• Carlisle Bay - A small natural harbor in the southwest region of Barbados, home to the island’s capital, Bridgetown. The bay has been turned into a marine park, popular for scuba diving, with many relics from ships on the ocean floor.

• Cherry Tree Hill - Approximately 850 feet above sea level, offering an excellent view of the “Scotland District” in the parish of St. Andrew. The road is lined with mahogany trees, which give way to sugar cane as you descend the hill.

• Morgan Lewis Sugar Mill - One of the largest and only complete sugar windmills surviving in the Caribbean. The wind-driven machinery that ground sugarcane in the 18th and 19th centuries is still intact, but the mill is not operational. The mill includes an exhibit of the equipment used to produce sugar at the time.

• Rihanna Drive Monument - Pays tribute to the world-famous Barbadian singer and global icon, Rihanna. Located in her hometown of St. Michael, the monument showcases her achievements and contributions to music and culture. It also includes her childhood home and neighborhood.

• Kensington Oval - A stadium in Bridgetown, primarily used for cricket. It has hosted many important cricket games between local, regional, and international teams over its 120-year history.

• Farley Hill National Park - Set in the grounds of the once regal Farley Hill house, now in ruins. The park features a forest of mahogany trees, high up on a hill overlooking the rugged Atlantic coast. It’s an ideal spot for picnics, nature walks, and weddings.

• Bridgetown - Offers a variety of shopping experiences, including duty-free shops, department stores, malls, smaller shops, and street vendors.

• Independence Square - Located on the waterfront in Bridgetown, a lovely spot to relax and take in the sights and sounds. Enjoy views of historic Bridgetown, including the Parliament Buildings and National Heroes Square. Vendors offer local crafts and refreshments.

• Golden Square Freedom Park - Home to the Builders of Barbados Wall, which tells the story of those who have built Barbados over the past 600 years. The wall features engraved names of the nation’s unsung heroes, with some bricks left blank to signify those whose names were not found.
