Stades Distillery Barbados - We starter our cruise in Barbados and visited the distillery for a tour.
What an amazing few hours we had. We received a friendly welcome as soon as we entered the reception area. We were offered Rum Punch which was the best punch we had throughout our trip to the Caribbean. It needs bottling to sell ready made!!!
ASHA our tour guide was amazing. She was very friendly, she totally immersed us in the rum making process. She is clearly very passionate about giving customers the best experience. We learnt about the history of the distillery as well getting the chance to sample different types of rum.
The distillery is on the beach so you can also enjoy beach time (a quiet tranquil beach away from the crowds), they have a well stocked bar and you can order food.
We would definitely return and enjoy a day there enjoying the scenery and the rum.
Well done Stades, we had a brilliant time.

Great Distillery Tour & Tasting with a View - We had a fantastic time at the beautiful located Planteray Rum Distillery. The team around Joy-Ann and Usher did a tremendous job - from welcome reception to farewell. We enjoyed the very informative distillery tour followed by a tasting with a view. Afterwards we hung out at their beach to relax and enjoy even more tasty rum. We will get back once we are back in Barbados.

A must see if in Barbados, the best of the four distilleries. - The hour tour was really interesting. You get to go into the depth of the distillery and sample right from the cask. There is a beautiful beach club where you have the multi-rum sampling. There is a bar and restaurant and the beach is gorgeous. Asha is the best tour guide-very knowledgeable and funny. All the staff are nice and very professional.

Epic Rum Punch - For some reason doing a review from my mobile rather than the iPad has created another account…. We tried to come here on our last visit but it was still in the building process. Came back a year later and so glad we did. Only wanted a mooch around the merchandising stuff but stayed for a light lunch and a drink. Without doubt the best Rum punch and fish cakes we’ve had in 21 trips to the island, they were both so good. Would highly recommend a trip here. Changing rooms for the beach and toilets etc. we’re immaculately clean. Staff were friendly and very knowledgeable. Give it a try, definitely worth it.

Fantastic tour - The tour was fantastic! From start to finish the customer service was excellent. Our guide, Asha, was interesting and very animated, she made the whole experience a fun one. The centre is in a great spot right on a beautiful beach, I spent the afternoon swimming and reading under an umbrella. Lunch was delicious and served on a lovely terrace with a cool breeze blowing. Highly recommend!

Fun, informative, in the thick of it. - Great tour and tasting. We were there a little before it opened and the team were happy for us to sit in the air con and wait. Asha was an excellent tour guide. Informative and fun. Tasting in the beach was beautiful and drink at the bar to finish up expertly made.
We did the nearby Mount Gay tour last year, both are great but very different and at Stades you get right into the thick of the production of the rum.

A must-do rum experience! - This tour was absolutely incredible! From the moment we were warmly greeted by Joy-Ann, who set everything up seamlessly, I knew we were in for something special. And I wasn’t wrong! Our guide, Asha, was simply outstanding—knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The whole morning was packed with fun and fascinating information. It’s an experience you don’t want to miss when visiting—definitely a must-do!

Best Rum Tour on the Island - What a great experience trying some great rum straight from the barrel Asher was a great host and made it very interesting. You get to taste rum straight from the barrel and then on to the beach front to taste even more.
I wanted to do a tour but wanted to go to a distillery that you couldn’t get most of the rum in UK this was definitely the one

Best way to spend a day - tasting rum & beach - My son & I enjoyed the rum & beach experience. The tasting was awesome & purchased some to take home to share with friends . We enjoyed our salad, burger and french fries. Great experience to swim in the beautiful water, have a wonderful lunch, and return back to the beach with a nice cold drink. Tayra, bartender was personable & very attentive on the customers. The beach chairs were comfortable but we spent more time in the water when we were not eating. We definitely would return on a future visit- and hopefully the T shirts will be available to purchase!

Overpriced and poor tasting selection - We arrived in the late afternoon “on chance” and were allowed to join a tasting but as we did not have closed shoes, long trousers we were not allowed to see the main facility. While we waited for the tour a young lady looked after us in the shop and she was exceptionally knowledgeable, passionate and fun. We really enjoyed her pre tour looking after us.
We then joined two others for the main tasting. We were shown out to a raised platform overlooking the beach. The lady presenting was lively and tried to make it fun but the “sell” of the brand was a bit too much. We were given 4 rum’s to taste. The first was a really basic white rum. Other establishments don’t even start with this low quality (straight off the distilled without any aging) rum. We then had a low end sort of matured rum followed by one that I would start to consider good for this type of tasting. Lastly we had a coconut spiced rum that reminded me of sun lotion.
Four pretty cheap rum’s at the price we paid was very disappointing. This short term cash income is a shame because it will make people buy other brands premium rum’s so it’s a long term loss.
