Puglia pasta making, 5/5 stars - The class was so good! We cooked typical pasta of puglia, making it from scratch! We also made the dessert, a tiramisu, which was wayyy better than the one we make at home... Our hosts were amazing and very welcoming, they were great to talk to and very good at explaining the steps of our cooking process. We had a lovely evening with them and it felt like visiting old friends despite meeting them for the first time. I greatly recommend the experience!

True authentic experience - This was an absolute highlight of our trip! Mimma and her husband were the perfect hosts! We really felt like apart of her family. The food was simple to follow and delicious! I can’t wait to make this food at home with my kids. Thank you for the perfect night! In my opinion this is a must do!

Authentic cooking experience! - We took the "Fresh pasta making class" with Mimma in Brindisi and had so much fun! First they welcomed us with aperitifs, then taught us how to make three different types of pasta (and sauce), and then we got to eat our creations. Mimma was an excellent teacher and we really enjoyed this experience. A truly authentic experience!

No better teacher of Pugliese culinary secrets than a local Nonna - The cooking class/dinner was an amazing experience and i highly recommend it. My wife and i wanted to try something new/different as well as typical of the region. Cesarine didn't disappoint. Typical Pugliese dishes at a small Masseria cooked/taught by a local Nonna. Her English was not perfect but in order to make sure all bases were covered she was accompanied by a charming, smart local kid who spoke perfect English and helped translate everything. At first we introduced each other, our hostess Maria offered us water and, of course, their own local wine. Once we felt at home we got to work. She explained what we were going to make, the menu consisted on fried bread polpetti, fried squash blossom and the crown jewel of Pugliese pasta: orecchiette with tomato sauce and fresh basil. For dessert: caramelized almonds. Maria guided us step by step, from soaking the bread in water for the polpetti to making the dough for the pasta, knead it, stretch it, cut it and shape the orecchiette. All this in the beautiful kitchen or her Masseria while listening to classic Italian pop songs. It didn't feel like a class at all, it was more a gathering of friends just laughing and talking while making dinner. While things were cooking we stepped out and Maria showed us around, we gathered some herbs and hot peppers from her garden to add to our menu. She also showed us all different kinds of tomatoes and olives she grew. We went back to the kitchen to finish up and went back outside to sit at the table, beautifully set in the garden so we would enjoy the fresh summer breeze. After all the delicious food and wine it was time to say our good byes and go home. Not without receiving a parting gift from our gracious hostess, cute little bags with the caramelized almonds we made. Perfect snack for the upcoming flight! We look forward to have some friends over and put on practice our newly learned pasta-making skills. If you feel like doing something out of the ordinary on your vacation now you have another option to consider.
