The story began when Terry Morris, a Queensland entrepreneur and businessman, attended a dinner party in Victoria. During the event, Terry mentioned he had enjoyed a fantastic wine from Queensland’s Granite Belt, which prompted laughter from his Victorian friends who claimed, “There’s no such thing as a great wine from Queensland.” This moment inspired Terry to bring his vision for Sirromet to life. He selected land in the Granite Belt Region, known for its unique combination of rich soil, high altitude, and cool climate—ideal conditions for grape growing. In 2000, Sirromet opened its doors to the public. By blending traditional methods with new technology, Sirromet produces high-quality wines that have gained international recognition.
