Amazing kayaking experience - A fantastic experience from start to end. Jess was a great guide, a fun person to be on the water with and was very personable and knowledgeable. Everyone in the group was included and it was a good dynamic. I'd highly recommend this tour as a great way to explore the river.

Memory of a lifetime. - Such a great wholesome experience for our whole family. David our guide was kind and had a wealth of knowledge about the area. We learnt about oysters, sea birds, indigenous culture, local knowledge and much more. Everything was supplied for us, even dry bags for belongings. The views were stunning and we were lucky enough to be photographed by a passing pilot. 100% recommend these guys.

Wonderful Family Day Kayaking Pambula River. - We've never had a Kayak experience prior to this. I purchased this tour before we left for our 12 day NCL cruise in NZ/AU. I bought it directly from the Navigate Expeditions website not on Trip Advisor. Buying this direct from the company and not booking a similar excursion offered by the cruise line was about half the price. I also added their round-trip pick up/drop off from the ship dock about 20 min from the river. Finding them was easy on the pier. Clean mini-van that seated all 6 of our family plus another couple from the ship. We were an eclectic family group my husband 73, I'm 65, son and daughter in law 40 and two granddaughters 11 & 14. They had all our kayaks ready when we arrived along with two knowledgeable guides Laurence & Nathan. Each person had a single kayak and a double for my husband and I (much appreciated at our age). After a short tutorial and placing all our items in the dry-bags they supplied, we put on our inflatable safety devices and we were off. It was a cool and overcast day which worked out perfectly. Bring a water or drink the Kayak has holders for bottles. The river itself is lovely and peaceful. We were all surprised at how many oyster beds there were along the river. We saw eagle nests and were told the history of the indigenous people and how they used this river and the natural oysters beds in their day to day lives. Laurence and Nathan were very experienced and knowledgeable of both the area and the culture. We reached the turn around point, a quiet beach just about at the ocean. There we had some of the most wonderful freshly made fudge ever. When you book your tour you choose your drink preference, tea, pressed coffee or orange juice. Laurence spread out our picnic, my tea was very hot and fresh and the family enjoyed their fresh pressed coffee and OJ. On our way back the tide was going against us and my youngest granddaughter (11) was fading and falling behind. Nathan put a tow line on her kayak and the other end around himself and gave her a tow assist all the way back so that she didn't have to struggle to keep up. It was a great adventure for the entire family, even my husband who’s basically a “Cat” when it comes to water enjoyed the day. The ride back was pleasant and our driver Kerrie had offered to drop us in town if we wanted to shop and walk back to the ship. We were all quite satisfied with the days events and passed on the town although Eden looks like a lovely and quaint spot to get lunch and do some shopping. Fresh, local oysters abound in this town if you're so inclined. When we returned to the dock, Jess the owner of Navigate Expeditions met us and her other tours that were out for the day. She seemed genuinely concerned to learn if we all liked the excursion and if there was anything they could do to improve it. Great customer service and personal attention to detail. This was a wonderful family excursion and the favorable USD to AUD exchange made it even better. Be sure to buy it directly from Navigate Expeditions Website and you will be charged in AUD. That saved us a lot with six people. If you buy it from one of the online trip sites (Google, Trip Advisor, Expedia, etc) you will be charged in US dollars and you lose on the conversion. Don't hesitate to take this excursion, it was a great family day. They also have regular sightseeing excursions that other passenger off our ship had booked, but I think this one was the best.

Amazing and unforgettable experience - We did the Pambula River kayak tour in a light shower of rain. We would do it again in a heartbeat. The pristine surroundings, the abundance of wildlife (above and below the jade coloured water) while serenely gliding along in a kayak, made this an unforgettable experience. Our host Jess was amazing and so was the morning tea. Our family’s experience in a kayak varied from a lot to none and this didn’t matter at all. Neither did the weather. This tour is highly recommended, rain or shine.
