- Broussaille - Mur BD - Street Art - We will explore several murals dedicated to the comic world, including the first one created in the city. Discover the artists behind them, their connections, and the various Franco-Belgian comic schools, with a focus on the “clear line” style. Examples include Victor Sackville, Ric Hochet, Kinky & Cosy, and Thorgal.
- Rue Terre-Neuve - After viewing more murals, such as Yoko Tsuno’s, we will visit the house that inspired Hergé to place his renowned reporter, Tintin. It’s near the market where the character discovers the famous “unicorn.”
- Grace Espace d’Art Dessin dans le Mur - Manneken Peace - We will continue to admire various designs until we reach the graphic version of the Manneken Pis, a large mural honoring him, next to his wardrobe. Here, we will share stories of this little boy’s adventures in Franco-Belgian comics, featuring XIII, The Young Albert, and Olivier Rameau.
- Tintin Mural Painting - We will focus on Tintin, starting with the mural depicting him, which leads us to “The Tornasol Affair,” located near the city center.
- La Boutique Tintin - We will visit the entrance of the Tintin boutique, where you can find a variety of items related to the famous reporter, beautifully themed around “The Blue Lotus.”
- Les Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert - Hergé’s talents extended beyond comics. We will discuss the theatrical ventures of Tintin’s characters that took place in these galleries.
- Smurf Statue - After discussing the significant Moof museum, the large Smurf statue will prompt a conversation about its creator and the boutique located nearby.
- Smurfs Passage - The tour concludes under the mural passage dedicated to The Smurfs, showcasing Brussels’ life and customs through these blue characters. Can you uncover all the secrets this mural holds?
