Additional Information

There’s a wealth of experiences to be had here: sights to behold, knowledge to gain, flavors to sample! Allow me to guide you through the history and culture of Brussels.

Brussels holds the distinction of being the world’s second greatest hub of diplomatic representations, with its 159 embassies and 2500 diplomats. Despite its relatively youthful age, since its emergence in the Middle Ages, Brussels rapidly secured its significant status in Europe. Ever since its foundation stone was laid in 580, Brussels has swiftly risen to prominence in Europe. Over the centuries, the city has served as the capital of numerous regions, such as Burgundy, Brabant, the Netherlands, Belgium, and presently Europe. Its rich and exquisite heritage is highly valued by many.

In present times, Brussels is acclaimed for its mouthwatering chocolates and confectionery, esteemed beer, exceptional architecture, and its unique knack to keep surprising you. If I have the pleasure of guiding you through this legacy, I promise to ensure that you see it, feel it, and savour it!

If you only have a couple... - If you only have a couple hours, this is a great way to see some of the key landmarks in Brussels, learn about the city (and country) history, and enjoy a waffle and some chocolates along the way. Our guide was professional and informative, and the pacing of the tour was great. The tastings were spaced out to keep our energy up, and little breaks including 10 minutes to explore the Cathedral of St. Michael and St. Gudula on our own after a guided introduction, which was perfect because there was so much to see and we could choose what to focus on.

Highly recommend - Knowledgeable guide, Sancar, was intelligent, well spoke, and had great city information from history on where to eat after the tour. Recommended places for me that are not in the city center because he got to know me and realized as a solo traveler, I was not only interested in the tourist spots.

Excellent Guided Tour - We were met on time in Grand Place, and our guide had taken the trouble to know our names almost immediately. It was a small group of 12 people which was perfect as it made for a much more personalized tour. As a historian, he could answer our questions effortlessly, but set a tone whereby all questions were welcomed and even invited discussions along the way. We saw the major sites as promised, but threw in several sites or artifacts not so common. We even shared an excellent beer at the end of our tour when we could continue with our discussions. This was certainly one of the highlights of our trip to Belgium, and would highly recommend this tour. You will not be disappointed.

Great experience - Great experience with a knowledgeable guide. Walking the streets, listening to his stories was wonderful. As he navigated the streets he also shepherded the group being mindful of cars and bikes and ultimately our safety.

Great tour & even better tour guide!! - We love taking a walking tour on the first day in a new city. Our tour guide knew so much about the city’s history and was able to answer all the groups questions. We loved having a taste of a “real Belgium waffle” which funny enough is not with all the fixings on it. Great stories about the pralines (which is chocolates in Belgium, not the Carmel/nuts here in US). And the proper way to give chocolate as a gift. Our guide was the most memorable actually. He quickly learned everyone’s name, where they were from, cared who had allergies to the food, and afterwards shared a lot of local recommendations thru email. He even took the time to provide options traveling to the airport. He really seem to care about the people. Highly recommend this tour!

Book it - you won't regret it! - Our tour guide Sancar was fantastic. Prompt, friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. He limits the size of his tour groups to 12 which is super important when walking around Brussels if you want to actually get anything out of it. He encourages questions and it's obvious he loves what he does and it shows. Our tour ran about 2 hours 45 minutes. The Waffle and chocolate pralines were delicious. He also gave us great tips on where to stop for frites and a beer.
