Great entertainment for the whole family - We had a great time, the tour was interesting for both kids and adults. The audio tour was convenient as we could do it at our own pace, the interactive displays were great for kids and we enjoyed sampling the chocolate and praline making demo at the end was great. The price was reasonable also.

Pleasant route, to do - We can understand why chocolate is a specialty in Belgium and the recipe for pralines. A presentation by a chocolatier at the end of the course is very interesting and well animated by the young man. Chocolate tasting during and at the end of the course. Watch out for tourists who put their fingers everywhere! Chocolate more expensive than anywhere else in the store.

Last Minute Tour - No need to buy tickets in advance. The line to buy tickets was much shorter than the line with advance pre-purchased tickets (we arrived at 10 am). I liked the history, the tasting, and the demonstration of chocolate making. I highly recommend it if you have time.

Great for families - Interesting history of chocolate, best part was definitely the chocolate demonstration with a sample of Belgium chocolate, great for kids as lots of interactive games.

Just ok, but a good option in case of bad weather - If the weather isn't great, this is a good option. Otherwise, it should be on your B list or even C list. Personally I already know a lot about chocolate history and production so I breezed through certain parts of the museum. The audio guides are good, and you can listen to all or be more selective about what you want to spend time on. I think there were missed opportunities for interactive/hands-on experiences.

Nice museum, but more suitable for older kids - We visited Choco story with our 2 year old and 5 month old. You can't take strollers into the museum so bear in mind that you will need to carry any little ones, and you do need your hands free to listen to the audio guide. We forgot to take a baby carrier which meant one of us couldn't listen. It takes around an hour to go round the museum and there is a bit where you get to taste some of the chocolate and also see a demonstration of some chocolate being made. I would say this museum is a bit more appropriate for older children, ours were a bit young to fully appreciate it. Our 2 year old enjoyed eating the chocolate but didn't have the attention span for the audio guide. There were various interactive screens throughout which she would have liked, but they weren't working. Overall, a pleasant way to spend an hour.

Poor thing for the price. - It is by no means an obligatory step in Brussels. Kids were thrilled with the free samples, but it’s a hallway full of cardboard figures and some monitor projecting videos that doesn’t bring much. Display is the main course, though. I wouldn't come back, my kids would.

Beautifully designed chocolate story in Belgium, not entirely historically complete. - Beautiful building near the main square, beautifully designed, with an audio tour many listening moments possible, I personally would have preferred to see signs near the objects, with the elevator departments accessible but because you walk a route that is not very clear, there are also wheelchair lifts, on mezzanine floors. The tasting is minimal, and the demonstration only starts later so if you are early you miss it or you have to wait quite a long time. Not a single word about the slavery thing or about the negative side within the cocoa industry. All in all a nice experience but less bubbly than the leaflet suggests. Nevertheless, I would recommend taking a look. Nice people too.

Mostly for kids, very touristy, and a little misleading/offensive - I originally bought tickets for this museum for me and my friends thinking it would be an enjoyable where we could learn about making chocolate and the history of chocolate in Brussels. Unfortunately, the website was very misleading and when we arrived the receptionist informed us we could not participate in the workshop since we only bought museum tickets. The museum was tailored towards children so it was not that entertaining to us. One thing I did take offense to was the way in which the museum dealt with colonization and forced enslavement. They lightly brushed over these topics or even out right glorified them in some parts of the audio tour. I found it extremely inappropriate. Overall, I found this museum to be way more touristy than educational.
