Interesting experience - My Hubby and I visited Brussels and went to Brugge for the day, decided we wanted to visit the chocolate museum. When we arrived got greeted by a lovely lady who explained they were full and the next available experience was at 4.30pm and we had to book via the website. So we stood there and booked and went for a walkabout as had 2hrs to kill before returning. you get given a little listening device which when scanned over each number plaque tells you about the piece in front of you. Towards the end you get to sample some of the chocolate (very yummy). The experience is very interesting and well priced. The only thing I would say they should have a notice outside to say you have to prebook and the website, otherwise a good thing to do.

A chocolate adventure - The history of chocolate and many interesting facts are presented. Chocolate consumption had social significance and was a refined manner. Maybe the fact that it's now available to everyone makes us underestimate it a bit, but here's a good example of how it's good to appreciate everything in our lives.

I didn't see that coming! - Chocolate in Belgium is a real culture! I must say that when I bought tickets to visit this museum I was really skeptical. Then, instead, it turned out interesting and very cute even for my daughter of 12 and my daughter of 2! If you have some time I recommend visiting it!

Great for families - Interesting history of chocolate, best part was definitely the chocolate demonstration with a sample of Belgium chocolate, great for kids as lots of interactive games.

To learn about the history of chocolate - I loved the fact that this museum takes you all the way back to the beginning of the Mayan, Aztec etc. culture and how they used to view and use chocolate / cocoa. I found it very interesting to learn about the way chocolate was introduced to the African and European continents and how it was viewed "back in those days". At the end, a chocolate demonstration takes place. Don't worry if you walk in half-way as there's a schedule of the different times and you can just wait for the next one. You also get to taste the delicious chocolate that is made. I would suggest taking wired headphones to avoid having to hold the audio guide up to your ear.

Reasonable - The good points. There were no queues and it was possible to enter straight away. Having the very good value Brussels Card allows complimentary entry rather than the 14€ adult charge. Opportunities for a nibble of chocolate here and there. Very good location right in the centre of town. Could be better points. The dreaded audio guide is in heavy use here. These devices cause congestion around many exhibits where people are listening to the same speed detail of the exhibit. One day some of these places will realise that many people can read far faster than listen to these earaches even if there is the odd joke thrown in here and there. Seeing people holding the device to their ear for lengthy periods and staring at an exhibit is strangely surreal. Reading a personal text guide (preferably) or display would be far easier. Overall it was ok but I feel that the similar chocolate venue in Antwerp which I visited in November was considerably better. The kids around seem to enjoy it, so if they’re happy, that’s a positive.

It was an alright visit - The museum was okay. Lots of reading but it did provide some interesting aid bits of information. We spent 2 hours there but only saw the end of one demonstration. Might have been better if we got to see more. It was worthwhile to go. We didn't pre buy tickets but the line was not too bad in the morning.
