Itinerary:

Day 1. Bucharest - Peles Castle - Bran Castle (aka Dracula’s Castle) - Brasov

Your private guide will meet you at the airport or at your centrally located hotel in Bucharest. Afterwards you will start your journey to Transylvania. First, visit Peles Castle: located in Sinaia (approx. 44 km from Brasov), it is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful castles in all of Europe. Set against the natural back drop of the Carpathian Mountains, the castle is a masterpiece of German Renaissance architecture.

The next stop is Bran, where you will visit the ‘Castle of Dracula’. Surrounded by an aura of mystery and legend and perched high atop a 200-foot-high rock, Bran Castle owes its fame to its imposing towers and turrets as well as to the myth created from Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

In the afternoon enjoy a tour of the medieval town of Brasov. Highlights of the tour include; Black Church, Citadel of Brasov, Ecaterina’s Gate, White Tower, Black Tower, The Blacksmiths Bastion, The Weavers Bastion, The Ropemakers Bastion, The Drapers Bastion.

Day 2. Brasov - Prejmer - Harman - Sighisoara

The first stop of the day is the Fortified Church of Prejmer (UNESCO site) - Situated approximately 16km northeast of Brasov, it is one of Eastern Europe’s best preserved fortified churches. Surrounding the cross-shaped church (originally built by the Teutonic knights) are walls 12 meters high and 4 meters thick. These wall helped to protect the church and Prejmer’s inhabitants during war times, when each family would retreat into their own room.

Next visit the Fortified church of Harman - although smaller than Prejmer fortress, this church matches it in charm and architectural value.

The tour moves on to visit the fortified town of Sighisoara (UNESCO site) last. Sighisoara is one of the few inhabited fortified towns in the world and is a great example of medieval town planning: Here, all the elements of the medieval world have been perfectly preserved. Sighisoara tour highlights: The Clock Tower & History Museum, The Church on the Hill, House of Dracula, The pupils roofed stairways, German cemetery.

Day 3. Sighisoara - Fortified Church of Biertan - Bucharest

Today you will visit the Fortified Church of Biertan (UNESCO site) - This architectonic ensemble from Biertan will impress with its harmonious position and its aesthetic and historic value. The original building materials have been preserved since the end of the 15th century and the beginning of the 16th century; it is therefore easy to see why it is included in The UNESCO List of World Patrimony.

Transylvania 3 days private tour - The experience was fantastic. Gaby was our guide and he is a very knowledgeable and pleasant person. Everything was well organized so we could enjoy the busy places at very quiet moments. The only point that i would improve is the hotel in Sighisoara which was outside the citadelle and not at a walking distance.

Experience of a lifetime - My husband and I came for our honeymoon and were blown away with not only the country but our overall tour experience. Cristian was the perfect guide to help us learn about romania but was also super down to earth and easy going and made us honestly feel like we were close friends. I don’t think we would want to see any more of the country without him and feel like everything we got to see was so extremely unique. It was unlike anything else I personally have seen in Europe and we both already want to plan our next trip with Cristian and Unzip Romania. If I could give them more stars I would. Great tour, great food, great country and the best part was Cristian himself. We feel very grateful for being lucky enough to have this unique and priceless experience for such a special occasion. Thank you unzip Romania and specifically thank you to Cristian for being such a wonderful person.

Fabulous Tour: This is the way to do it! - My husband and I are just back from a 3 day customized tour with Gabriel. This was the first time we have done anything like this and it was a magical experience. Communication with Diana in the office via email was prompt, friendly and professional. This was a busy time for Tourism so I was thankful for Diana's excellent communication. We travelled with Gabriel who is a lovely and highly knowledgable man from Bucharest. He drove very safely which we really appreciated because the other drivers are shocking. He knows everything you need to know - from the history to personal stories about growing up in the time of Communism (which we asked about). This is the sort of thing you don't get in a big tour. I loved the way Gabriel knew everyone and was able to get us everywhere we need to go easily. A true professional. We highly recommend this company and would use them again in a flash!

Great Tour and great guide - Would like to say a big thank you to Gabriel for making our holiday in Romania more enjoyable. Gabriel is full of history and local information and has a great sense of humour. He was very careful about our safety and was obviously a passionate Romanian. We Australians, just loved the snow, it was really beautiful even though it was a bit cold! Highly recommend Gabriel as a guide and UnzipRomania Travel was a pleasure to deal with. Thanking you once again for the wonderful experience , Grahame, Gay, Lyle & Lois.

Highly Recommend this Tour - I highly recommend any tour with UnZipRomania-- My family (4 adults) had an amazing experience which started right from our booking with warm and friendly emails and continued with trip recommendations and trip organization. We were met promptly at our hotel and spent the next 2 nights and 3 days submersing ourselves into Transylvanian Culture & History-- we were led by a man who was not only our guide but also our educator/interpreter/professor, Gabriel, who was so kind and generous in sharing Romania. We are ever-so grateful for this experience and unfortunately only had time to scratch the surface of this wonderful country --- should we come back, UnZipRomania will be our first call.
