Curtea de Arges Monastery - Stop at Curtea de Arges Monastery along the way to visit a charming old Christian Orthodox monastery. Our guide will share the history of this significant Romanian faith center.

Transfagarasan Highway - If weather permits, travel to Sibiu via the Transfagarasan Road, reaching the peak of Romania’s most beautiful and scenic route.

Please note that the Transfagarasan Road is open from June to October.

If the Transfagarasan Road is closed, the alternative route through Olt Valley River Road will be used.

Sibiu Travel - Arrive in Sibiu in the afternoon, a magical city with a German style, located in central Transylvania. Explore the old town area with our guide.

Sibiu – Alba Iulia – Maramures

Cetatea Alba Iulia - After a warm breakfast, head to Alba Iulia city. This well-preserved citadel offers a tour of the Old Town section, revealing the history of ancient and medieval times.

Maramures Excursion

Barsana Monastery - After breakfast, start your Maramures excursion in the morning.

Your first stop will be at Barsana Monastery, one of the area’s most important monasteries, showcasing local culture and wood carving skills.

Visit a local wood carver, one of the few craftsmen in the area, to learn about wood carving in Maramures.

Muzeul Tarancii Romane - Arrive at Dragomiresti Museum to learn more about Maramures culture through a visit to a traditional house with its customary belongings.

Next, visit the local whirlpool to see how locals wash their clothes and rugs.

Merry Cemetery - Conclude your day at the Merry Cemetery, where your guide will read humorous stories of the people buried there. Established in 1947, this cemetery offers a unique perspective on the afterlife, focusing on humor rather than sorrow.

Maramures – Tihuta Pass – Voronet Monastery – Gura Humorului

Manastirea Voronet - Enjoy a warm breakfast before departing for the Bucovina region. On the way, pass through Tihuta Pass, which offers stunning views of Bucovina.

Arrive in Gura Humorului and visit the Voronet Monastery, one of the area’s most famous monasteries, built by the renowned ruler of Moldova, Stephan the Great. During his reign, he constructed over 300 monasteries, many of which are in Bucovina.

Gura Humorului – Sucevita Monastery – Moldovita Monastery – Black Pottery – Gura Humorului

Moldovita Monastery - After breakfast, head to Moldovita Monastery, a UNESCO Heritage site. Our guide will explain the historical and religious significance of the exterior paintings.

Sucevita Monastery - Next, explore Sucevita Monastery, another vibrant old painted monastery.

Ceramica Neagra Marginea - Then, visit the Black Pottery of Marginea to learn about this ancient craft technique still in use today. Watch a live demonstration by a local craftsman.

Gura Humorului – Bicaz Gorge – Red Lake – Brasov

Bicaz Canyon - After breakfast, head to Sighisoara, located in central Transylvania. On the way, pass through Bicaz Gorge and reach Red Lake, where you can have lunch (at your own expense).

Red Lake - Arrive at Red Lake, where you can have lunch (at your own expense).

Brasov Historical Center - In the afternoon, arrive in Brasov and explore this fairytale town. Our guide will share the history of the place as you explore Catherine’s Gates, a former city entrance.

Brasov – Bran – Peles – Bucharest

Bran Castle (Dracula’s Castle) - In the morning, visit Bran Castle, also known as Dracula’s Castle, to explore this medieval fortress. After the tour, enjoy free time in the market in front if you wish.

Peles Castle - Arrive at Peles Palace in Sinaia to tour one of Romania’s finest palaces. This 19th-century palace was built by Romania’s first king.

Return to Bucharest in the afternoon.
