The Transfăgărășan is a tarmacked path traversing the Carpathian Mountains and stands as the second-highest paved thoroughfare in the nation with a height of 2,042 metres (6,699 ft).
The pathway offers entrance to Bâlea Lake, a glacial lake positioned at an elevation of 2,034 m. Here we can relish the crisp air and cool climate, admire the Transilvania scenery, and indulge in a lunch break.
During our return journey, we’ll appreciate the view of Bâlea waterfall and make a pit-stop at the Vidraru Dam for a refreshment break.
The probability of encountering brown bears along the pathway is high.
Throughout our trip, we will spot a mountaintop castle constructed by the infamous Vlad the Impaler - the Poienari fortress.

Incredible Day on the Transfagarasan Road - Huge thank you to Alin and Octavian for an incredible day on Transfagarasan Road! We took in all the sights at a very leisurely pace and even saw Brown Bears up close too. Super helpful service and our driver was not only incredibly fun, friendly and knowledgeable but also very conscious of our safety. Wonderful experience from start to finish and can't recommend this company enough - Thank you!

Best tours in Bucharest - I have booked quite a few trips before but Dreamlike Journeys & Sebastian are indeed the best not only in Romania but of all of my experiences. I have never seen such incredible customer support and attention to detail before - every part of the experience was beyond expectations. He even sent me a video with the place where we were going filmed by Top Gear! The trip itself was breathtaking and Sebastian was warm, welcoming and knowledgeable - he really makes the Romanian tourist industry proud. I am super grateful and would recommend the trip and Dreamlike Journeys to everyone coming to see the magic of Romania. They are indeed the best.

Great day on the scenic road - This was perhaps the best experience in the mountains and Alin is so funny, I laugh most of the time with him. There are some 3 hours + ok the road but time fly with so great atmosphere and then the landscape is OMG. 100% recomand this guy fot Transfăgărășan!

Great day, wonderful memories - We've spent a wonderful day traveling from Bucharest to Transfagarasan. Our tour guide was very professional, knowledgeable and funny. He provided us with lots of interesting bits of Romanian history and culture, making the day memorable. The tour was very interesting and yet not tiring, since we had enough stops for refreshing. It was a tour well worth both as time and money.

The extraordinary adventure in the land of bears and famous road of Romania - An extraordinary adventure with a dedicated guide . The view is dreamlike. The road made by Ceaușescu is a true masterpiece, although it can only be visited a few months a year, it is worth every moment. In addition, I had the opportunity to observe several bears on our way to Bâlea Lac. The tour reaches up to about 2040 meters high and from there you can see the famous road. I highly recommend this tour.Thank you Alin for the amazing experience.

Scenic twisties trough the wild Carpathians. - My favorite part is the scenic twisties that snake over the landscape. The guide is a special character. Lots of laughs and a relaxed atmosphere.

Perfect dat! - The trip was extremely nice & we had enough time at every stop, the tour guide was also very friendly & professional, he was excited for the stops as much as we were. We saw a lot of bears on our way to the lake, which was very surprising & nice!

A tour with attitude and bears at altititude - It was an extraordinary tour. The guide was nice and respectful. He provided a lot of information about the areas and also very funny.
